I would like to suggest this unique He 111 H-16 modified to be a Nightfighter and Ground striker, armed with not just the 20mm Mg FF/M in the G.L.L (Große Linsen lafette) in the front, but also 3x 13mm Mg 131 and another 2x 20mm Mg FF/M fixed under the fuselage (one fixed on the Under hull Mg station, see pictures).
Depending on the source, this unique He 111 H-16 was part of the “Nachtjagd Schwarm” by the Luftflotte 6. with either 5 Mg FF/M against the nghtly attacks of soviet Biplanes, or 3x 13mm Mg 131 and 2x Mg FF/M (more likely, conciddering the available higher quality close up pictures), not just for night hunting, but also agianst soviet ground targets including Trains.
It came to be as the Luftflotte 6 didnt have enove night fighter and ground stravers of their own, such as Bf 110s, Ju 88 and Do 217 J/N Series with delays in production in 1943 they had to make do with modifiying the He 111 H-16 with the above written additional armarment at the cost of bomb capacity (the Armarment either was mounted in place of the lock or the bomb would be in the way of the firing).
Operated by Oblt. Günther Bertram, the He 111 H-16 Nightfigher was mainly used against the nightly russian Bi Plane raids, against the He 111 was perfectily adequat, its in comparisson slow speed wasnt an issue, as neither were the russian bi planes and while obviously beeing outturnable, it wasnt defenceless as the offencive and defencive armarment of Mg 81Z, MG 131 and Mg FF/M were a serious threat against the partly even wooden construction russian byplanes.
On the daytime runs against ground targets and infantry it could still carry a bomb on the most left lock (with a limited carry weight of 1000kg), targeting mainly infantry, light armored vehicles, Trucks, Cars, taking priority in the bombing target to then return while strafing.
There was a fixed 20mm Mg FF/M in the godola, partly taken over from He 111 H-3, which recived a forward firing one to strafe ships, however over the newer versions the forward gondola was redesined, recived armor but lost the armarment, however on this plane it was mounted in the armor as a further fixed armarment, visible on the pictures and a close up.
Between March and July 1943 Bertram had with this Nightfigher allready achived 14 Victorys.
In game this plane would offer an unexpected further firepower to the in game He 111s against other bombers in an head on, as well as in low BR GRB against unarmored and light armored targets, when loaded through with AP-T or AP-I in the Mg 131, with a combined fire rate of 2700 rpm of the 3x Mg 131 (600 Rpg) as well as even more by the 2x Fixed Mg FF/M (360 rpg)
The guns all were quipped with flashhiders.
Guns:
(excluding the Defencive armarment, noted lower at the plane stats)
Fixed armarment.
3x 13 mm Mg 131 (600 Rpg) 2x in a pair, and another together with 1x Mg FF/M
2x 20 mm Mg FF/M (360 rpg) 1x Next to 1x Mg 131 and the 2nd on the gondular
Technically also the normal bomb load, however except the most right and middle Bomb lock, as there is a pair of MGs and the fire way of the back Mg FF/M
Only beeing able to equip 1x SC250 or SC500 would also make it lower in BR. perhaps 2.0, for the offencive armarment to be more effective against ground targets.
The Plane:
He 111 H-16
Defensive armarment:
3x Mg 81Z (in the sides and 1 in the gondular)
1x Mg 131 at the top back,
1x Mg FF/M in the G.L.L at the front.
