HDR and frame generation on Linux

After recent update I can see frame generation options (in lnux), HDR was there previously but there seems no way of enabling the options .

I have a HDR monitor and have enabled HDR in KDE .

How do i do this ?

Thanks

Hello @Yossarianuk1,

So did you have a HDR option before the latest update but now it isn’t there anymore? Did HDR work before the latest update?

Hi.

So the HDR option has always been there (for as long as I have been playing) but no way of selecting it .

similar to the new frame gen options (i.e no way of enabling)

I can confirm I have HDR enabled in desktop (plasma 6.x / wayland) , reading around the subject it looks like I may have to use gamescope to get HDR working ? Anyone know for sure ?

i.e has anyone on linux been able to enable HDR in War thunder ?

Right, Have you confirmed HDR is working in any other games on your system?

As for frame gen, That needs DLSS/FSR/XeSS which currently aren’t available in the Linux client so thats why that option is greyed out.

Not sure about DLSS but will FSR and XeSS along with Ray Tracing support the native Linux client in the future?

Sorry for the delay.

I can confirm I have HDR working in some Proton games - using (from steam)

PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 PROTON_ENABLE_HDR=1 %command%

I can also watch HDR video using

ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 mpv --vo=gpu-next --target-colorspace-hint --gpu-api=vulkan --gpu-context=waylandvk \(HDR\ HEVC\ 10-bit\ BT.2020\ 59.940fps\)\ Camp\ by\ Sony.mp4

Not sure I have any other native Linux games that have HDR support to test …

I have tried using launch options for War thunder

ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 %command%

also tried

SDL_VIDEODRIVER=wayland %command%

The HDR setting is greyed out and not able to select

Has anyone got HDR on Linux working on this game - if so how ?

Right, In that case could you please submit a bug report on the Gaijin War Thunder Community Bug Reporting platform?

https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder

Making sure to follow the reporting guidelines and include all the required files and information.

Will do at some point soon - cheers

btw the random crashing I was having a few months ago has completely gone .

Right, Thank you. o7

Well thats good to hear, Thanks for letting me know.
