Hawk T Mk1A and Pre-order for the Hawk T Mk1A (FRP) — Back to School

Oh bummer. Maybe a Mk 127 then, if those were armed

South Africa’s Hawk 120, Australia’s Hawk 127, and India’s Hawk 132 are all options for armed hawk 120 variants from British subtrees.
Hawk 120 is the only one with countermeasure dispensers however. So perhaps the most likely

Did the Swiss do anything to the airframe of their Mk.66’s?

Statshark performance for last month is live. not good…

I hope BR changes are soon because jeez this things quite clearly useless for 7.7. They are the worst performing 7.7 aircraft 3rd/11th least played vehicles of that BR.

its kinda quick for 7.7 but it may need to go to 7.0 for ARB

As someone who owns the Hawk T.1A FRP, I don’t really see the vehicle being balanced at 7.0, especially when it would face propeller driven aircrafts at 6.0. The vehicle is in an incredibly awkward position where moving it down in BR would make it a massive hassle for the vehicles it’d face (6.0 to 7.0), whilst moving it up would be bad for reasons that are self explanatory.

In my opinion, the best route would be to give the vehicle the AIM-9D or AIM-9G and move it to 9.0 or 9.3. The entire point of the T.1A upgrade was to make the Hawk combat capable, which includes the AIM-9 air to air missile.

i get the POV. But the hawk 200s are the exact reason why the T1a didnt get the missiles, they are absolutely worthless at a BR where those missiles start to exist. you could put the base hawk 200 at 9.3 and its still going to be crap (i think it should go to 9.7, RDA to 10.3 and 209 to 10.0)

the moment it turns its going to get dumpstered by Mustangs, Tempests, and every other 6.0+ prop and it hasnt got the payload to become a jet-powered Wyvern (yes the wyvern is technically a turbine engine)

its got no payload to make it worthwhile for CAS vs peers around its BR, it cant turnfight, it cant run away unless it was already at top speed, its gun is in a crap position and doesnt have enough ammo to go for a bomber.

The jet provost (Strikemaster) is a superior plane for war thunder in every single aspect other than top speed and damage per bullet. and that plane is 6.3

The L-39ZA (Czech) is almost as fast at 0.85 mach, turns better, better gun, better suspended armament too. its 6.7

its peers are better for the requirements of the game and lower in BR. They do make props suck to play as youre always the slower plane but its also not exactly thrilling to play them most of the time.

Or give it AIM-9L and the F-5 treatment (non-service countermeasure dispensers), for a 10-point-something

Even then. Lob off your missiles at the flareless targets and you’re a sitting duck.

Gaijin: it’s performing too well, so it’s going 8.0

lol i was expecting it to be there from the beginning. Even with britain tax the plane is really underwhelming, especially as its got an avionics computer issue where if one pilot loses weapon control they both do…

Yeah, I was surprised it went down

I suspect its gonna go down when the BR changes happen. hopefully we get another before the end of the year, especially as im expecting gen 5 jets or something absolutely nuts this year

What im really hopiuming for is a Decompression with the hawk not moving but other things moving up

that would save the superprops from more jet trainer slop while also letting ww2 jews breathe away from F-86 spam.

honestly props could consume up to 8.0 pretty easily and have jets start appearing from 7.3

Yeah, I’d do the same

its a shame the devs are terrified of doing significant BR changes, as that is what the game needs most.

Also need to look less at player statistics when rebalancing vehicles, theres so many things too high or too low due to player skill variance and look at the actual vehicle vs BR peers. tbh they dont even do that when adding vehicles, look at BMPT or T58, or the hawks tbh

Yeah, how they handle BRs is just bad

Whilst decompression is the logical route, this would inevitably impact queue times significantly if major BR decompression were to take place. 7.7 isn’t an incredibly popular BR range, and queue times are already moderate, so this would simply make things worse. The issue isn’t necessarily the vehicles around 7.7 (besides things like the La-200), but the fact that the Hawk T is naturally an unusual aircraft that was introduced in an unconventional fashion.

This vehicle really has two options, one of which I prefer: either move it down to 7.3 or 7.0, or give it its historical AIM-9 air-to-air missile capability. It could easily sit at 9.0 or 9.3 with either the AIM-9D or AIM-9G, or at 10.0 to 10.3 with the AIM-9L and countermeasures.

Oh no, I might have to wait 3 seconds instead of 1 second to get into a match…

Id rather wait 2-3 minutes on average per match to get into a good match every single time with every single vehicle than to instantly get into bad matches

Definetly shouldnt get 9Ls, Hawk 200 is DOA already at that BR.

BR drop and decompression is the only solution.

You already have to wait an extra minute or two on average for a match. Drastic BR decompression would mean waiting ten minutes or more. This is time that I and many other players don’t have. Queue times for this BR range are already high, so don’t make them worse.

Just a note as well: I was queuing at 7.7 when it was at its average peak player count. I can’t imagine how bad it’d be with drastic BR decompression.

The Hawk 200 doesn’t sit at 10.0 or 10.3; the Hawk T with countermeasures and AIM-9Ls would. The best solution to all of this would be BR adjustments based on armaments, something we already have to some extent in-game.
