Is the Japanese AV-8S Late any different from the other Harriers? It’s probably a skill issue, but I just got thoroughly outmaneuvered by a guy on that Harrier in Sim while I was flying the Mirage F1.
All harrier 1 have the same flight models so yes. There isn’t much you can do against an f1 with the current FM even the SEP is lacking so maneuvering over the top into the vertical will even fail.
Should have 24,000 fpm SEP at sea level with just 85% throttle.
Well, that means the guy was really good.
What? No what I’m trying to say is that regardless of what you do in the harrier as it is right now you will almost always lose.
The harrier is missing a lot of SEP and therefore doesn’t even get to exploit its irl massive PWR advantage.
The harrier at 110% throttle make barely 24,000 SEP at sea level at around 400 knots but it should actually make that much with 85% throttle.
A good comparison a clean nearly empty F15 in full after burner has less SEP than a Harrier until around .4 Mach depending on a few variables.
I was the one flying the Mirage, and the guy in the Harrier somehow always managed to get into a firing position first. We engaged head-on several times, and he was able to turn around faster.
Does the use of flaps and thrust vectoring not help the Harrier turn faster?
Likely VIFF + airbrake. Did the fight become very low and slow?
If the harrier can force you into a low and slow fight. Almost nothing will beat it, but you are left extremely vulnerable to anyone else coming in, so it’s only really good for 1v1 battles.
But the harriers are more than likely underperforming in sustained turn rate which should mean extreme tactics like that above wasn’t quite as necessary
0.6M, I assume.
Its the same sadly
Dude you should correct your sentence to: Gaijin has a pathological hatred of everything non-Russian, they hate all NATO nations, and they pamper Russian vehicles (especially premium ones) like spoiled children… Example: Try to play with some minor nation like Italy, and you will understand what the real hatred is, just ask yourself why Ariete doesn’t have its composite armour yet despite the manufacturer saying it has composite armour? or why OTOMATIC is at BR 11.3 when 2S38 is still at 10.3?
As for Harrier I agree with you, it should be correct.
If they were careful with how they turned them that makes sense. Harriers have a half decent instant turn, but suffer in sustained turns
maybe put thrust to 99%?
I’ve only bested a f1 in a fair fight one time that I remember.
And yes the flaps help with turn rate sort of… they are modeled to have way to much drag so if you use flaps and VIFF you can turn very hard. After that you are going maybe 200 knots however. The best low speed STR I’ve found is 20 degrees nozzles with mid flap setting at around 225-250 knots.
What are you even talking about?
