Wallet warrior is buying a vehicle solely to gain a competitive advantage over others rather than simply improve your rate of progression.

Someone buying XP-50 for airspawn in ARB is a wallet warrior.
Someone buying xp-55 for its criminal undertieredness is a wallet warrior.
Someone buying bushes for GRB/GSB is a wallet warrior.
Someone buying a premium fighter that’s also found in the tech tree, or is otherwise balanced but has good economics is not.
Someone who has a premium account is not.

Yet - you can get bushes for free so by arguments you listed buying bushes is not being a WW.
Every second BP rotation, LVL5 WB Shop.

Now what about people getting those premiums as gifts from friends? Or those who grind event vehicles and sell said event vehicles to buy the mentioned vehicles that would deem you a WW - It was technically grinded for.

Talking about grinding - What if you go out, get a job, work 9-5 every day of the week to get said vehicles? It was still grinded for - just in a different method?

Battlepass is cancer.

And it’s only every second rotation as you said.

And you need to put in stupid amount of hours to get to level 5 WB shop AND play in a specific, anti-fun, anti-social way.

Doesn’t matter.

Inside a match, all players should only be differentiated by their skill and skill alone. Equipment of course makes a difference, we cannot really change that for casual play. I play without head-tracking or VR, and as such I am at a disadvantage. I’m also at a disadvantage as I lack analogue rudder pedals. This is something I’m okay with accepting as this difference is not part of the game’s model. I can also compensate and find ways around this out-of-game interface differences by developing my own control scheme that minimizes disadvantages (Relative axis Q/E for instance, IJKL camera controls, binding V to turn head up, X to reset camera position, tab to look behind).

Now of course, it’s assymetrical combat. A Bf109 shares little with a spitfire. A Corsair shares little with a zero.

However, when I get beaten by a spitfire I can grab the spitfire, send it for a week and try to learn its strengths and weaknesses. If I get beaten by a corsair, I can grab a corsair and so on and so forth.

The spitfire is also balanced without special considerations as it’s a TT plane. People might cry if it gets a BR increase, but Gaijin has no real reason to worry about that as it’s not a premium.

Now do the same with an XP-55. You cannot. In fact, if you go on to balance it you get people crying that gaijin “scammed them” because they bought the plane for its undertiered dominance.

We saw this as is with the XP-50 losing its air spawn - numerous threads and posts crying they paid for the airspawn and gaijin is scamming them.

I’ve bought premiums. I intend to buy more premiums, if they fit within my moral code. I wish we had more premiums I could buy that I felt okay with.
I want to buy the yak-3 premium but I cannot because it’s french and france often fights soviets and this causes IFF confusion.
I want to buy the bf109F4 premium but I cannot because it’s american and america always fights germans.

I ended up getting Mustang Mk Ia because Britain and US never fight each other in my preferred game mode, and the Mustang MK Ia is the exact same plane as the P-51 so I don’t gain any untoward advantages beyond “I get more SL to buy expert crews with and afford to fly 7.0-8.7 jets without needing 10 games to pay for respawn costs in 1 match”. Its most unusual advantage over the P-51 is that it has spitfire camo and enemy planes see me and run away to avoid turnfighting the mustang and it’s hilarious.

Next sale I’m debating between pm-1 and p63a5. p63a5 covered in soviet markings shouldn’t have a lot of IFF issues, especially since there’s matches where america is not present to cause confusion.

See above.

Competitive game.

In Dota 2, when you enter a match your only differences become just your experience & knowledge, ability to communicate & draft from lineups available to both sides and ability to execute on that experience and knowledge.

Warthunder should aspire towards parity with Dota 2 in its random matches.

Although I’ll say - no premium plane - not even the ju-288 ruining entire BR ranges - compares to the amount of bollocks that is crew skills.

  • Crew skills affect the distance at which enemy planes render ( Community Bug Reporting System) (read the bug manager response to “planes randomly turn invisible” - “give me screenshot of your crew skills.”) (also read the recent update to GRB about absolute detection range, same applies to planes).
  • A maxed/expert crew with no g-suit can sustain 5.5G turn indefinitely. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAPIwEoJzVo)
  • A crew with level 2 G/stamina passes out in 30-35 seconds doing the exact same maneuver and vignettes/starts losing situational awareness far earlier. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAPIwEoJzVo)

What’s so special about 5.5G turn? High speed descending spiral fights and scissors.
Doing the same kind of flying with an experted/maxed crew vs a “I grinded out the tree as I went and invested all XP into g/stamina and I’m in a 4.0 plane” leads to the second plane blacking out repeatedly attempting the same maneuvers in complete parity.

Funny thing about absurdity of crew skills.
Mustang Mk Ia. Premium RP gain.
21 SB games, 71 air kills, 5 ground kills.
Same slot: 14 Spit F Mk IX games, 12 XVI games.
(also am p confident the SL/RP gained counters on service record for SB is broken. I’ve gained far more than 33k RP in the Mustang Ia as the screenshot below demonstrates).

Crew level?

“Wallet warrior” is just a derogatory term often used by inferior or simply envious gamers. Ignore them!

Buy the premiums you want or don’t and don’t care what foolish people think or say.

To be classified as a Wallet Warrior it doesn’t means you need to be level 99 or lower, or even, starting to play the game in a specific date.

It’s buying a excessively amount of premium vehicle for a single line-up, e.g., USSR battle rating 10.3 or USA battle rating 3.7 to battle rating 4.0;

It’s actually a compliment when you get called a wallet warrior, I rather be a wallet warrior than a welfare-warrior, at least I know I have spending power unlike those who has nothing to offer to the world lol they are like those who get invited to a potluck, everybody brings their own food to share but his welfare warrior bring a set of fork and spoon for himself.

wise words

I do actually wish we can “premiumize” all the tech tree vehicles like how we buy Talisman, it will receive a golden frame and earning becomes double, there are just many tech tree vehicles that are better than premiums, I would say the ZTZ88A is better than the T-69IIG.

anyways im gonna go play doom bye

which one?

Doom 2016, Doom Ethenral or one of the old ones?

What do you call someone who owns premium planes, but absolutely despises pay to win mechanics and grossly undertiered aircraft and aircraft with unjustified advantages (e.g.: airspawn fighter with good climb).

You won’t guess: a player. Regular player.

I bought some bushes cause I thought they looked cool (also I have 3 with 2 being the dead bushes cause they can work universally on a lot of camo’s)
