Guided bombs in naval after “Heavy Cavalry”?

In “Heavy Cavalry” update, they added Yak-130 with 500 kg KAB-500Kr TV guided bombs and J-22M1A with FAB-250 PGB GNSS guided bombs. Later one also has air-to-ground missiles you can use in naval however their warhead is very small to do any reasonable damage to top tier ships. Both of these airplanes are 9.0 therefore you can spawn them with 8.7 ship in your line up.

Is Gaijin testing something or they simply forgot to lock these airplanes by changing their battlerating for naval to 9.3 like they did with several airplanes before?

They also added L-39ZA/ART Albatros to Japan with CCIP for bombs and rockets at 6.7 which makes it first airplane with CCIP spawnable in naval.

just wait till you have to deal with asms

They don’t do damage to ships with armor

Meanwhile they moved aircraft like the Buc S1 up because its unguided bombs would be too powerful.

Though to me, it sounds like they forgot about these aircraft in Naval

They forgot every aircraft introduced after separate BRs were implemented, and never tuned down BRs of overturned ones. All BR changes patches after that, ignored naval air BRs completely.

So probably they will never gonna change them.

ps. As for me all 9.3-9.7 Air should be tuned down to 8.7-8.3 just for diversity of planes in battels, due that the the can’t do much impact on BBs. Especially considered that we lost second respawn of planes with bombload in naval battles.

hmm that sounds wrong as they should do but who knows

first b-52 now this rip navel players

While there maybe a genuine problem with the J22 & Yak-130, I don’t think the L-39 is to much of an issue since it must still be over a target to drop bombs & the speed of the aircraft is questionable.

Now for the former two, I was unaware the J22 was possible for the mode, as I’ve only seen outcry for the Yak-130, yet maybe this is also why they introduced supposedly operational CIWS to the mode, furthermore the credible threat of cold war guided munitions maybe now a reason to use SAM armed ships more at higher BR (or even get gaijin into gear adding in those two ships seen in the trailer, Project 956 missile destroyer & California class missile cruiser).

I guess in AB those will be a problem moreso due to the reloading mechanics of the mode, just like how potent using the Ki-48/He 177 A-3/A-5 can be in AB. I further guess they’ll be more limited in RB due to having to return to the airfield after sorties.

This could also be the time to introduce mode limited loadouts if these newer guided weapons are to powerful for the mode, two per sortie over four bombs vs wholesale removal of the aircraft from these BR’s. Such additions of these aircraft could also be seen as a test for lowering current overBR’ed aircraft into the mode with guided munitions (yet like most things for NF, probably more of an oversight).

Which is fine if all nations had them.

Unfortunately true, It’s a shock that the devs don’t seem eagerly to add further vessels to all trees already. In those cases interceptors & radar guided HA HAA cannon armed ships must be used to aid teams without SAM’s.

I can personally think of several ships that could be added soon ish for Britain, Japan, Italy & France yet the devs willow in reluctantly to add them, from frigates to cruisers.

Hmm, surprised that datamined Type 103 destroyer didn’t get added.

So long as all the naval SAMs are coded to just behave like big ATGMs, it’ll continue to be a mess. Balancing modern planes will be impossible if chaff doesn’t matter, you can’t notch, etc.

And if they made them into actual radar-guided or heat-seeking weapons that behaved like their ground varieties (often of very similar weapons) do at this point, naval players would hate it because it would mess with their (mostly fictional) antiship capabilities they’ve come to enjoy and rely on. We call this the “Douglas dilemma.”

You’re correct in all fronts Bruce, eventually when they do model all that in, the devs will kick the hornets nest for player reactions (kinda look forward to it actually), maybe that Project 956 destroyer is a snippet of what’s to come since its SAM’s are at the current time only able to fire upon aircraft, for if the RIM-24A has its mechanics corrected (may even see a BR reduction then).

They should not unless they have guided munition with ability to penetrate armor(like Fritz-X or bunkerbusters)
