Ground vehicles - too much exhaust smoke/fumes

Hello,

In my humble opinion, the ground vehicles emit way too much exhaust smoke, as if the engines are running badly/damaged. I understand the smoke may be this way when an engine is cold or running too rich, but now there is too much smoke which does not happen in real life. There used to be less smoke in previous patches (quite some time ago).

It now looks a bit weird, though the smoke itself looks pretty good.

On top of that, vehicles are quite easy to spot because of huge exhaust fumes. Especially upwards exhaust.

I would like to see the smoke reworked or toned down a bit (or toned down only when “Engine” modification is researched and engine is fully repaired…?).

What is your opinion on this one?

Cheers

It’s because of this setting.

I think the change should be reverted because it allows for less choice. I want to have heat haze effects, but I want the particle density set to the lowest. It also seems to affect FPS way more now, which is a net negative.

I had heat haze enabled but particle effects set to low too, now I can’t have one of the two, this is just bad all around.
