so what could i have realistically done, because to me there was nothing i could because there was no restriction of altitude to keep play semi balanced for the lower tiered spaa such as my 10.0 stormer ad
you could have stopped him from doing it in the first place or gained spawn points for your intercepter in a fast light tank because he probably struggled seeing tanks at that height
i was trying to do that, but pretty hard when your getting bombed from space, i was capturing a base when i was first bombed when i was in my chally 2
in this case you want to be on the edge of the capture area to avoid bombs and poping smoke
i pretty much was on the edge of it, only thing i didn’t do is pop smoke, but then again i wasn’t expecting a laser guided bomb to fall on me, i was more expecting a enemy tank which i would rather see than hide from
just a bad game ig
But i wouldn’t be so pissed off about it if i had someway to counter it, as in that situation i wouldn’t have ever gotten enough points for my harrier t10 to try and intercept it
It has great energy retention just like other similar trainer aircraft in game. It can move up a whole br or more when in ground games and still be of use.
I know but again I didn’t have the points to spawn it in to even try and fight it
Yes. 21k ft is just below 6.5km, and even a stock roland, 2s6, or rapier can reach that.
if its not a yak130 at that BR then spaa should be able to get it
Have you tried out the Rapier instead?
I actually like that SAM very much: Low yield warhead, admittedly, but very fast.
So far I have had quite sobering results with IR-SAM’s, exactly because of their quite short practical range…
Funny thing is, the easiest way for gaijin to balance space bombing like this is to just increase the chances for bad weather. Good luck bombing people from space if you can’t even see anyone through the clouds.
Never tried it, i can’t seem to figure out how to guide the missile onto the target
Are you not using the Radar Control Screen?
Simply lock and fire, the system guides the missile. And quite reliably so.
One can also fire and guide in gunner view, and in some situations that is even advisable (e.g. at helis hovering low so radar struggles, but the automated way is very good.
There is an achievement for killing a tank with a guided bomb from 20km distance, thus we can’t have every game be clouded over.
Shouldn’t be at the ground player’s disadvantage
The achievement has to be at a ground players disadvantage, because the achievement requires a player controlled tank to be the target.
Ain’t that how guided munition should work?
And I don’t see what vehicles are put into comparison. 10.7-ish is the first and last br where laser bombs would work, yet you would have OSAs. You are uptiered in your 9.7-10.0 stinger-gunners. These SPAAs are the same br as su22s and yak130’s kabs don’t lock till very closer range
Yet the weather’s usually bad enough.
I hate CAS in ground battles. Hopefully they added a separate gamemode without CAS bro
