Greco-Iberian Ground Forces Tech Tree

This is true, however it’s a domestic conversion so still worth inclusion in my eyes. Regardless, the BMP-1A1 w/ZU-23-2 already found within Chieftain’s tree is a better pick IMO due to its lower profile and better armor, not to mention the fact that it’s in service whereas the M113 mod was a prototype if I remember correctly.

the M163 are at 7.3 with tracking this thing probably doesn’t have tracking

It most likely does considering that it’s entirely remote control (hence the name).

I would also like to note that Greece uses modified M48A3/5 MOLF that retain the 90mm Gun while being equipped with the MOLF fire control system and two plane stabilzier

The modernization of the M113 of the HS to “TOMA”, truths and lies - FLIGHT

As Greece has yet to modernize its fleet, both of these vehicles can be added at modest BRs without interference from modern components.

The grenade launcher will be kinda useless, as for the Milan carrier why not? (Even if I prefer the one in the Mercedes)

Out of all variants (they are like 3-4 now I think) with the Vulcan this is the most interesting one

Well modern grenade launchers tend to come with multi-purpose HEAT rounds for light armor, and since this one is mounted on a relatively primitive APC I figured it could work as mid-tier light tank.

And Greek M113 MILAN is redundant anyways since Spain uses something very similar but in bigger numbers.

I posted this vehicle and video a while ago, back in comment #38. Since then, we’ve gotten an official prototype, so I’m not sure this one is needed anymore.

According to Nicholas Concu, the OF-40 THETIS prototype was actually a testbed for a purpose-designed Greek variant known as the OF-40 MK2F.

Access to the article he references will be necessary to confirm, but if this testbed really was built specifically for Greek trials, even if it never actually made it abroad, I still believe it has standing in this tree (or the new Greek subtree) as a premium/squadron/event tank around ~9.3.

Isn’t it a paper vechicle as it was never made?

Correct, however I am more interested in the testbed with the THETIS system and additional armor. According to the above post it was both built for Greece and trialed there as well, in preparation of this so-called MK2F variant. A suggestion already exists on the forum, but this is for the Italian tree (where it’s technically not needed due to Leopard 1A5).

o never heard of a OF-40 in Greece tho only in Thailand

Exactly why I posted such.

The testbed for the Mk.2F was another tank: a Mk.2A that has been modified with part of the extra armour and maybe some other things. That tank is in La Spezia and it’s the one in the pictures.

The THETIS was instead in an amusement park.

Edit: my bad this seems to be the tank that was in the amusement park. From the old photos I couldn’t notice the extra armour and they seemed like two different tanks, but it seems like they movede it to the museum.

If it gets added it should definitely go to Italy and possibly to Greece. Generally speaking Gaijin doesn’t add “tested” vehicles, but they made many exceptions so why not.

In any case, to decide if it is superfluous we’d need to know the extent of the modifications done on the prototype. Unfortunately the person who does know hasn’t gotten the permission of OTO to publish the information yet so we can only to wait.
