Gneisenau, the potential problem child of naval?

So, for the new premium ships, they only have powerful 38cm cannon, but poor survival performance, maybe that’s the reason why gaijin choice them as the premium ships in top tier. It is pretty balance for them as the BR7.0 premium ships.

but this is gaijin we are talking about they’ll probably make it 30s

look what they did to the JMSDF ships like the Chikugo, in real life the ships can fire their entire rounds (of like 400-800) in WT you can barely fire 20 and the guns overheat

For me the move of GJ to introduce the KMS Gneisenau with its “none” Historical equipment does not make sense.
Its clear that the 38cm Guns of the Tirpitz and Bismarck were never mounted. The 28cm turret was used as coastal artillery in Norway.

I would have thought that GJ would bring Tirpitz (1944) as premium, while Bismarck as regular TT. Tirpitz was not only faster, but had torpedoes, and way more flak.

Chikugo’s 3inch cannon was designed before WWI, they just add auto-reloading system on it, and its version don’t have seawater cooling system, not like OTO 76cannon which was cooled by seawater.

So a 1970’s ship’s gun was made in ww1 lmao u dunno what ur on about mate

would you please provide a source to that?

no we do not need tirpitz as a premium it would be OP that you can just buy your way to germanys best boat

He’s getting confused with the 3-inch/50 of ww1-ww2.

I think he is using wikipedia as a source

because there it says up to the Mk.22 and the Mk.33 twin guns have not been listed in there.

Yeah they are different guns, that’s why they don’t share a wiki page.

Although the more modern 3"/50 is based on the older one. Mostly to enable an autoloader, e.g automatic breech block instead of a vertical sliding one.

Elevator fires is incredibly RNG prone, its a weakness that arguably every BB shares. Its completely down to luck if ammo elevators set off magazines or not, ive seen Scharnhorsts shrug off fire after fire that started in her main turrets.

While other BBs have other modules that you can shoot at, Gneisenau has literally no other option.

But in actual gaming experience, I played every top tier BB since the update(I already researched all country’s top tier BB), German BB use the shortest time since ammo elevator fire to mag explosion, then is Russian or American BB like pari or Colorado.

Not the wikipedia, in game’s data, gaijin using the same data on it, like its on Tacoma class or Asheville class, they have the same data.

No, it’s not up to RNG, or at least not by the entirety. Also not every battleship is as vulnerable to elevator fires as Scharnhorst. See my comment here:

Apparently Scharnhorst can’t even be called as very survivable at this moment, in any battle with many human players in top tier battleships, they just explode left and right whenever somebody throws AP into their barbettes, even poor Strasbourg last longer than these once invincible powercreeps. You wouldn’t even see bug report like this in the past 3 years until very recently:

Definetly a little RNG, either that or the display in the top right isnt always accurate, but yeah, can confirm. Took out 3x Scharnhorsts the other night in a single match aiming for the ammo lifts. 2 of them took setting it on fire twice before popping

The display on hit camera at the top right only tells you that “elevator is on fire”, but it doesn’t tell you the exact location where the fire initiates

I have the impression that these bot players are almost impossible to ammorack. They can have all elevators on fire, without any effect. While real player ships usually detonate.

Bot players will never be detonated by fire, the only chance to denote them is directly hit on its mag or shell room.

So, due to Gaijin’s lazy, I think they will completely use the old model part except the turret on Genisenau, just like what they did on 381 turret or Novorossiysk. And in this way, I don’t think Genisenau will have such incredible survival performance like Scharnhost in last three years.

When I encounter an enemy BB, I always aim for the turrets. For some types Its like a killswitch. Scharnhorst is no exception. Probably a nerf due to player complaints. Its that bad that you barely survive longer than 1 or 2 enemy salvos. Since most players aim for turrets, including me.

Its the other extreme. They changed it during on of the last patches. It was like going from the best BB in Warthunder overnight to absulte unplayable trash. Spawn, get hit at the turret. Boom. Game over. Idiot balancing.
