With the new dev blogs I couldnt but help feel leery at the announcement of Gneisenau. We all know how frustrating Scharnhorsts survivability is and the only thing preventing her from overwhelming the competition is her lack luster guns. Now, we’re gonna have a ship that has her armor scheme, but this time has hard hitting guns to be a threat to everyone.
To make matters worse, she will be the most modern battleship permium in the game. Naval is about to have its own premium horror that are a scourge in other game modes. Except this potential pay to win has a braindead skill requirement.
Whats the point of being excited about getting Yamato, Iowa or Vanguard if this invincible monstrosity is there to make the grind miserable?
yeah the guns are what keep scarn balanced now everyone and there mom can just spend 80$ for a massive advantage only people defending the Gneisenau being premium are premium players who love OP vehicles Svestapools kinda op to since they never ever got even close to getting the guns
Gaijin has a habit of givng axis and soviet ship the most optimum RoF they can find. Bismarks theoretical RoF had her ammo elevators break down when performing the tests, so the 20 second result was made if the elevators didnt break down.
Regardless, she never even reached those figures in battle. But Gaijin has shown that they wont care, so its entirely possible we’ll see Bismark and Gneisenau with 20-25 second reloads.
20 second reload at 0 degrees loading angle. However this was prone to failure, which is the same reason why Strasbourg and Rodney had slower reloads, which has been reflected in-game. But gaijin tends to be very optimistic with German ships. Overall I’d plan for a 20-25 second reload.
I didn’t scroll down far enough to see your comment, seemingly great minds think alike…
Gneisenau may start with 20-25 seconds, she won’t stay that way though. She literally has so little and so weak power assistance there is no way she could achieve even 40 seconds without some sort of mythical teleportation powers of the crew to move shells and charges from each component of the autoloader.
In my opinion, this vessel as a premium is like a money trap, or a ‘fair’ trade if you will — give the players a obvious powerful premium at the highest battle rating it could be in exchange you give Gaijin money.
Sincerely if the Gneisenau perform better than the Scharnhorst and it get a good amount of money to Gaijin, maybe they’ll pay attention to naval and fix some problems and focus part of their efforts in making this gamemode more appealing.
