I’m speaking from simulator battle experience, but I’m sure this can apply to RB
Give the mig29(a) the r73 now that the f16 has the aim9m at 12.0 its only fair that Russia gets some good missiles too as the recently new Russian missiles alike the r77 are sh*t and the r73 is good but not good enough as in most cases its easily flares away. I’m sure before gaijin had a “balancing issue” with the r73 but now that they turned a blind eye on the 9M I’m sure they can do it again for the R73

You alt have the best SARH missiles in game, and R-60s work fine.

No, it doesnt. Belgian F-16A is 12.3 BR.
You already get competitive weapons on the Russian jets.
r60m? not really. Maybe the ER but when you always get up tiered it doesn’t matter

also I explicitly said that I’m fine with the BR being slightly altered since I’m sure that it will not make a huge difference in the current meta

no its not, its a 11.3 tier missiles, shit range shit seeker-head, I mean you would know if you played a the mig29 with the r60Ms, they legit go to one flare then switch to next and keep going like that as well as the range being maximum like 2.5km when you are not gaining on the enemy in the rear not to mention head-on which is not much better. Also about the ER, yes we do have a competitive Radar missile but with the new BVR changes the mig simply does not have enough flares/chaff so you have to choose between: Have equal split between chaff/flare but then you only have 15 pops each and with IRCCM missiles it’s not enough or you jsut take flares and maybe 4 or 6 pops of chaff just incase and stay low. Yes this affects the f16 but it doesn’t have the BVR capabilities so it usually can stay low and not worry about BVR

As you state, the MiG-29 9/12 and 9/13 both have superior BVR to their F-16 counterparts, at the cost of worse WVR missiles. R-73s would put both at 12.7
yeah but it has a bad flight model compared to any 12.0 + American airframe even the f14 has a chance
MiG-29G, a MiG-29 9/12b with R-73s, is 12.7
The 29A would also go to that br
doesnt have to be 12.7, the fm can lower the BR but either way the r73 would help
The FM is nearly identical to the MiG-29G
Additionally, adding the R-73 to the MiG-29A would remove the russian and german 12.0 air option entirely, and half the 12.0s in italy.
gaijin should’ve thought of that when they gave one of the best missiles to a blue side plane and just leave all the other nations to dry because they dont make any profit
Saying that when the 27ER was the only competitive BVR missile for the last year is wild.

You literally have a HMD, use it… I have absolutely no trouble getting a lock with R-73s on the Mig-29G at 12.7, slapping R-73s on the Mig-29(9-12) would immediately bump it up to 12.7, the other lad is right.

No, it should remain 12.0 instead of going to 12.7 as you demand.
Play the Mig-29G or SMT for R-73s.

Well the thing is ik war thunder isn’t great for realism these days, but the 29 relies on the r73 for its performance BC of the HMD, and honestly I think the br wouldn’t need to be changed much if they just swapped the R27ER out for the R73, for realism

The R-73 was developed with the MiG-29 in mind, not the other way around.

Hi. 6 months later, I know, but what if they removed the R-27ER from the MIG29 and implemented it the way it was originally meant to be implemented, with R-27R/Ts and R-73s? I think this is the best solution here that many people overlook.
