The mig-29 shouldn’t play like the mig-23. It is historically inaccurate to not give it R-73s.
By that logic they shouldn’t have ever added Fox 3’s, irccm or like anything after guns.

The BR’s are for balancing, the vehicles should be accurate.
The original reason for them not being added no longer applies, the mig-21 bison has r-73s at a lower BR.

That would be Su-27, MiG-29 is primarly a F-16 and F/A-18 counter. MiG-29 (9.12) was added as a lower battle rating alternative without R-73 as people were asking for such in the past, so MiG-29 (9.13) retained R-73 and radar missiles.
The hmd with R-73s would make it perfectly viable.
The mig-29 has been powercrept, it wouldn’t need to move up if they remove the ER’s.

The F-15A is at 12.7
and ? Yes it gets more missiles but AIM-7M are worse then R-27ER, same for AIM-9M vs R-73 and F-15 is a brick at high speeds
