Is it a good plane for grinding?
What is your current rank? Do you have any experience with jets like the f4?
Yes and no.
It’s double edge sword in nowdays .
Sitting in 12.0 it faces a lot of 13.0 planes what allready have Fox 3 and lot better IR and radar missiles. It is quite slow compared to many other planes in that br range.
Bright sides are HMD and quite good radar , and you get nice loadout to take 1 base and get enough missiles to defend yourself, and quite easy flight model , just stay low and flank.
Also depends what mode you play.
If you play ground and want plane to use in GRB I would rather go to Harrier. But that is seriously lot harder to use in air games.
So the F4S. In Short, It’s a missile bus. It has AIm 7F’s which work well for the br its at. For close range IR, It has the 9H. Though Rear aspect, its generally good to have.
It relies heavily on its armament and cant turn to save its life but you’ll generally get a kill or 2 if you know what your doing.
SFmercs loadout is generally the best to run, just don’t get in the habit of bombing with your high rank jets. Your gonna get killed every single time if you do.
Yep and just make sure you run away as fast as you can once you see planes named ‘mirage’ appear on your 6
Yeah, I hate base bombing in jets, when they sacrifice missiles on bombs/napalms. (MIG23)
Lucky F4S doesnt waste missiles on napalms
But it flies quite slow and is seldom able to get any base.
I personally do not bring any bomb at first and go up to 5000m for bvr combat
Only when it is endgame, I’d consider bringing bombs
Flying in 5K in f4s is pure death wish nowdays.
I’ll just stick on grass, go on left , if I dont get bases from there I dont care.
Just use sparrows on head on targets , and go towards right side bases from left flank if there are any and still keeping sparrows on line.
There are so many better BVR planes in that rank with faster and better missiles that I would recommend avoiding it.
