Should’ve been a squadron vehicle
One punch man.
Im just a hero for fun
“He’s just to strong”
When they give us an almost copy and paste none premium vehicle and it still costs a stupid amount of mission score. (45,000)
My suggestion is to switch to Air Realistic. Unfortunately, the event multipliers are completely unfair, and the recent score nerf (most critical hits got removed) hugely reduced the PVP score in Air Arcade.
Focusing on the PVP part in Air Arcade doesn’t make much sense nowadays score wise:
Spoiler
It’s better to focus on destroying ground targets (especially with strike aircraft/bombers lineups) or destroying bases with lower ranked bombers.
But it’s even better to just switch to Air Realistic. You can take something relatively fast, drop bombs, kill one or two enemies with missiles, die and enter the next battle. This way you can complete the event relatively easily.
I’m a newbie in Air Realistic, I don’t know how to play this game mode correctly. But even I can complete the event much easier in this mode than having at average ~10 player kills per battle in Air Arcade as experienced player. Which is completely ridiculous from my perspective.
To be honest, you don’t even have to kill players in Air Realistic. It’s enough to first drop bombs on bases, then kill a few AI planes even with missiles and then just die. This can give you very good scores with very little effort. Destroying 1 base in Air Realistic is worth more than 2 player kills in Air Arcade, and the effort is incomparable. Destroying 1 AI plane in Air Realistic is worth more than destroying 1 player plane in Air Arcade, and again the effort is incomparable. And I’m not even including the event multipliers in these calculations!
For me there is no doubt that Air Realistic is the mode to play the event, if you want to complete it in a reasonable time with little effort. Of course you have to learn the game mode a bit first, but it doesn’t take that much time. It’s definitely worth it.
There is also another way that I’m not sure if it’s still working. In the previous air events many players used rockets to destroy bases in Air Sim mode. It used to be the quickest way to complete the event. But I never tried this method, and lately the devs reduced rockets/bombs multipliers, so it might not be as good method anymore, I’m not sure. In the previous air events, players reported they could complete the 45k score in less than 2 hours with rockets in Air Sim. Maybe someone here is using this method in the current event and can confirm that it still works fine? I can’t check it myself because I don’t have the right planes to do it. If I understand this correctly, the best plane to use this method is the F-111A with 456 Mighty Mouse rockets. If I had this plane, I would definitely try this method.
Same here, I am interested in the plane but mainly to sell it but I would rather not do the event almost twice to be able to sell it.
I got burnt after the first match, after realizing u could not do the event with tanks.
Probably doesnt help that I am generally in the burnt out phase of war thunder and playing enlisted.
I prefer a copy paste planes for these events over a unique one. I hate FOMO and would hate to lose vehicles to these timed events. Unique domestic designs should be put in TT, then premiums, then BP and lastly these timed events. For copy pastes across tech trees it doesn’t really matter since you aren’t losing out on anything.
Also nobody is forcing you to grind this.

If you aren’t able to get above 1500 points in a ARB game at the 11.0 BR, then maybe lower your BR so you can use a plane you’re better at flying?
I’m gonna stop you right here. It is not mathematically possible to get 1500 points in Air RB at that BR because the matches don’t last long enough. Also, every kill I get is reduced in value. For example, the 900 points for one kill must have been a fluke because here’s how it has been going in the Swedish Mig-21 Bis:
First kill: 650 points or less
Second Kill (if I’m lucky, one out of 10 games): 450 points or less
Third kill (If I’m really lucky1 out of 20 games): 250 to 350 points.
So in order to get 1500 points I need to get at least 5 or more kills per match which is not mathematically possible. At lower ranks I need to get 6 or more kills since I lose 20% of earnings which is again not mathematically possible. In Air AB you need to get at least 8 kills per game at lower ranks which again is not always possible. It took me over 6 hours on Friday and again on Saturday to get the required points which is absolute insanity. Gaijin is nerfing rewards as you play so I would advise all players to start tracking your points per kill.
This is not correct. I heard this info comes from a popular WT content creator, but this guy is just wrong.
The score is actually very simple to understand and calculate. The base kill score is 180 in Air Arcade, but in Air Realistic is multiplied by 2.5, so it’s 450 score per kill.
The assist is 2/3 of the kill score, so 120 in Air Arcade and 300 in Air Realistic.
The critical hit is 1/3 of the kill score, so 60 in Air Arcade and 150 in Air Realistic.
For example, if you kill an enemy and get a critical hit at the same time, you will get 450 + 150 = 600 score.
The problem is, the devs removed most critical hits a few months ago. Previously basically every kill also gave you a critical hit, but it doesn’t work like that anymore. So the score for kills was reduced silently. This change was never announced anywhere, it was a silent score nerf. And to be honest, it was a malicious nerf too, because they implemented it two weeks before the severe damage mechanics was added to the game. So everyone talked about the severe damage mechanics, and most players didn’t notice the silent critical hits nerf.
This nerf reduced the score significantly, especially in propellers combat. It’s not that big deal at high BRs, because exploding missiles still usually give you a critical hit with a kill (the explosion destroys wing elements that critical hits are still attached to). This is a huge topic to discuss, so I can only recommend two topics that explain this problem:
- Critical hits are broken as of 15th of February or nearby
- Critical hits in Air RB / broken & hard to get
Just read these topics, if you are interested how the devs silently nerfed the score and rewards. They also changed this right before the air event started. Such a weird “coincidence”.
There is also another factor that affects the score. And that’s the difference in BR between you and your target. This is something the devs added to the game about 2 years ago. And there is another “coincidence” in the timing of this change. They added this system in about the same time as all events were changed to score-based.
The score-reduction table, based on the BR difference, looks like this:
So for example, if you kill the enemy at the same BR, you will get 450 score in Air Realistic. But if your plane has e.g. 11.0 BR, and your target 10.0 BR, you will only receive 450 * 0.874 = 394 score (if I remember correctly it’s rounded up, so 393,3 will become 394). The score reduction works the same way for assists and critical hits of course. If the BR difference between you and the enemy is 3.0 or more, you will only receive 450 * 0.1 = 45 score for a kill.
Of course it’s not that big deal in Air Realistic, because unless people are in a squad, you won’t see that big BR differences between planes. But this is a huge problem in Air Arcade, where players can use lineups, and you can put any plane you want in the lineup. Punishing players just because enemies decide to take lower BR planes is completely unfair. Notice there is also no score increase for killing someone at higher BR than you are. So this system only works one way, only reduces the score. After this change the score for PVP especially in Air Arcade became a joke. It’s often bettter to just kill one AI ground unit for 40 score than to kill the real player for 18 score. But that’s something the devs obviously don’t care about. As long as they managed to reduce the score without players protesting about this change, it’s all fine for them.
Anyway, there are a lot of negative and malicious, often silent changes to the scoring. But there is no system that reduces your score based on your number of kills. At least not yet. To be honest, it’s better not to give them such ideas.
This is untrue, the length of a match only determines the amount of opportunities you can create to get kills, it is not mathematically linked to points, only to RP-time based rewards.
That is untrue, every player-kill is a set amount of points, which is divided in either;
- fully own kill: 450 score per kill
- severe damage (80%of a complete kill)
- ‘killsteal’ of a plane that was severed by another player (40% of a kill)
These are set amount of points, which you can look at in detail if you hover your mouse over the points in the leaderboard of a game.
These differences can be explained by the following things:
- how many critical damages you made (150 per crit)
- how many hit you’ve made (25 score per hit)
- and the above 3 types of point reward for a player ‘kill’
- BR-difference between the killed player and you.
Untrue, if you get 1 crit and a complete player kill, assuming they are your BR of higher, then you only need 3 kills for 1500 points.
A quick example with the F-5C, I played a game to show you, this game lasted 10min26sec:
TIL you can do this

Thank you for proving my point that this event is designed for the try-hards and content creators. That many kills is not possible for a casual player. At all. Especially if there’s an F-14 or two in the game.
The F-5C can’t see any F-14s. Ever.
I don’t know if I’m a try hard, you play more than double the games that I play each week. How are you ‘casual’ then?
In any case, my original advise still stands:
Yes, it can in a downtier. For my situation the Mig-21 Bis can and did. A lot. Plus the F-4 spam with their missiles.
This week has been an anomaly. I typically only play enough per day to get through the Battlepass or use an expiring booster which is about 4 or 5 games in 30 minutes. I’m also trying to spade the Mig-21bis in the Swedish tree.
As far as “performing well”, there is no BR in which I can efficiently earn enough points to succeed in this event in any reasonable timeframe. I would need to be be top 3 in EVERY GAME which is not mathematically possible. Even when I do well I tap out at 2200 points in Rank III so I’ve already lost 20% of my effort which prolongs the time needed. This event requires no-lifeing for all but the most expert players.
OR you can just play in sim battles and nail the 45000 points in 4 hours thanks to the x3 multiplier
I’m 10 years behind the curve for that game mode and don’t have several hundred/thousand dollars to spend on IR trackers, multiple monitors, throttle quadrants and headsets.
My only point is, this event should be easier than it is. It should not be a painful grindfest that sucks the life out of you and removes the enjoyment from the game. What other publisher does that?
i just play it with a mouse and keyboard and i am perfectly fine, there often is only 3 players in each team so its very chill to play
The F-5C is 11.0, the F-14A is 12.3. It literally is impossible.
