Germany has been underperforming for months — is there a long-term plan for the tech tree?

Ofc it’s a kink. My country is not getting humiliated irl so I have to get my humiliation fix from somewhere.

I’m glad mine isn’t either but I still don’t indulge in such weird behaviors.

I think like 95% of updates are nothing more than humiliation rituals for guys like you, but truth be told, you take it on the chin like true champs and just ask for more.

Probably enough that you get humiliated on a regular basis .

People aren’t getting humiliated on a regular basis, especially not in games that you don’t even have to interact with.

I meant irl and on the forums apparently but whatever

Forum is pretty much seething regulars getting humiliated for years on end.
This place should be studied.

Could Germany’s poor win rates be partially explained by its inability to retain experienced players?

Many new players are drawn to Germany, but once they become more experienced, only a small percentage seem to stay with the German tree. Some quit the game altogether, while others move to nations with more complete lineups and a more enjoyable overall experience.

Meanwhile, friendly IRIS-T systems and wheeled SPAAs often struggle to effectively protect the team from threats such as LUMRs and Kh-38s.

The Tiger UHT faces a similar problem. In many cases, it can be intercepted and destroyed by the Pantsir-SM-SV before it even gets within effective PARS 3 engagement range.

To me, Germany’s long-term low win rates are one of the clearest indicators that the tree’s overall ecosystem is incomplete. And this issue may soon spread to lower BRs as well. At 8.3, the Gepard already struggles to deal with Soviet strike aircraft carrying four guided bombs.

What makes this even more frustrating is that this update once again focuses heavily on premium vehicles and copy-paste additions rather than addressing existing capability gaps.

I sincerely hope Gaijin will take steps to fill these gaps as soon as possible and improve the overall German gameplay experience.

so tiger and panther need buff judging by these winrates? can’t hold t-34s and shermans))

To a certain degree of course. The additions to higher tier Germany lately have either been very lackluster (SwaTrInf, Tornado IDS SLE, Fa18C) or got confronted with a direct counter one update after they got added (IRIS T SLM). Id say the only really great addition thats good at their job is the Eurofighter but even that one is in more than one tree and is just okay in GRB. And the coming update wont do anything for Germany either.

is that your best attempt at a strawman?

Tiger’s and Panther’s menace aren’t Shermans or T-34. Its the M-18 Hellcat with its incredible speed. BMP with stabilized heat, Yak-9k oneshoting every tank with APHE, super SPAAs with autocannons penetrating around 100mm RHA. Even 400mm pen HEAT is in this BR range.

While Germany has nothing comparable. Just WW2 steel going 30km/h or something.Slow WW2-like turret traverse. Nothing stabilized. Nothing special to win the cap zone game or to occupy power positions in time. Germany is probably just ingame as bullet sponge and laughing stock.

I mean, the best German tanks are not even part of the German TT. They got somehow beamed to other TTs. Its kind of funny :) The 3rd biggest arms exporter of this planet and the main antagonist of the last world war has nothing which somehow excells…its the last in the bus. Cant even turn around the turret and shot at something behind the tank. Its incedibly bad, luckluster, hardly playable. Even reload rate is worse than everyone’s else. Heli lol. Air to Ground ordnance nothing like others have.

Every minor got pumped up with tons of subtree additions to close most gaps and to make them playable. But not Germany. Most obvious allies got denied and the obviously planned subtrees (Austria, Switzerland) have nothing to support the lineups. No helis, no great jets, no great tanks.

Sorry what stabilized BMP-1 exists in WT???

Probably means the PT-76

Ah yes of all the things to complain about: a boat tank with no post pen dmg and armor but has a stabilizer. insanely OP!!! Must nerf!!!

Its posts like these that remind me there are people who think the game is only top tier and everything else is just a speed bump to getting there.

I agree with this. In my opinion, Germany has fallen behind quite significantly, and it feels like there is very little being done to address it.

A lot of German ground vehicles feel much more limited compared to what other nations have access to. Instead of giving Germany new options and meaningful upgrades, some vehicles seem to be artificially restricted in terms of armor, ammunition or equipment for balance reasons.

The air tree also feels like it is lacking at the top end. The Eurofighter is a good addition, but having essentially one modern top-tier option doesn’t feel sufficient compared to the development other nations have received.

The helicopter tree is another major problem. Germany has access to PARS 3 LR missiles, but in practice they don’t feel particularly effective, while German helicopters themselves can be very vulnerable and are often easily taken down.

Overall, Germany feels like it has been left behind in several areas: ground vehicles, air and helicopters. I would much rather see Germany receive historically accurate vehicles, armor configurations, ammunition and upgrades instead of having existing vehicles artificially limited simply for balance.

The German tree needs more meaningful development, not just another vehicle added here and there. It needs a proper long-term plan.

I also can’t help but feel that Germany has been pushed into the background to encourage players to explore the other sub-trees and nations. Some German vehicles seem to have been artificially limited or nerfed, while other nations and sub-trees continue to receive more attractive and competitive options.

I obviously can’t say for certain that this is intentional, but from a player’s perspective, that is how it feels. Instead of making the German tree itself more competitive and historically accurate, it sometimes feels like Germany is being left behind while players are encouraged to move on to other nations.

Its spammed. Players seem to like it somehow. On some map types its very favorable. Shoting heatfs on the move and flat chassis is never wrong.

Is obvious is intentional. Thats why Gaijin always strike Germany exactly in the same points, movility and CAS.

I think what bothers me most is how much hate Germany gets when it does get vehicles that are slightly better or in some cases, just on par with other nations.

The mere mention of the Swiss subtree vehicles being added sets people off.
