They had plans and limited conversion of 12,2 cm s.F.H. 396 (r) (M-30) to 12,8 cm.
Aside that they came to the conclusion that production of own 12,2 cm Sprenggranate and Hohlladungsgranate (which is identical in performance to 12,8 cm so 15 cm pen).
how do you get the performance about 8.8cm aphedsfs, by calculating or guessing?
I just put it in the calculator, taking it as a simple aphe.
@Ghostmaxi Is there any documentation for the 10.5 cm L/68 or any gun that could have been its predecessor? I’ve often wondered whether or not it existed in any form.
Yes it existed, along with at least the L/70 barrel.
There should be a photo of it, atest report, there is a penetration/velocity graph.
I do not know if it is based on a gun, or simply a new development.
@KillaKiwi should know a little bit.
Someone posted information in a thread on the axis history forum:
There was a project for a new 10.5cm anti-tank gun.
However only prototypes were developed and the 12.8cm was chosen instead, as it could be used as field artillery as well.
So the gun and ammo existed but nothing ever came out of the project, apart from the proposal for a more powerful armament for the Tiger II.
@Ghostmaxi @KillaKiwi Great stuff lads, thanks a lot. I’m guessing no photos of the gun itself exist?
I have one in my memory tho its only the barrel and breech, tho i cant find it anymore.
So it’s more or less lost media at this point?
Yeah.
Shame. Let us know if you ever come across it again!
Some new Ammo Data sheets from a later date Geschossringbuch and Sprengladungsringbuch.

Interestingly they also made a HEAT round for the russian 15,2 cm guns. So KW-II 755 (r) can also get a heat round.
I like to visit such threads. I always find something very unexpected :D
Edit: OH MY GOD, APFSDSHE-T :D
Edit2: does it have tracer? Can’t tell. But it should. Also ballistic cap would add 2 more letters, will have to look it up again tomorrow. I doubt it’s capped, but best case scenario would be the ultimate APCBCFSDSHE-T
Interestingly, the Gr.38 HL/C is fired at 480m/s from the FK 16 n.A. instead of 450m/s of all other guns.

Maybe someone mistook a 5 for an 8 when it was copied
But its hand written.
Yeah but it’s a compilation, so that data must be from somewhere else.
Maybe it was already wrong or who wrote it down mistoke it for a 8.
Or it could be correct.
Ok, looked at the Shooting table for it, either they changed it or its wrong. Or its the Wornbarrel thing again.
