I am in strong opposition of indian vehicles in the British tree. Even with the potential of getting a Rafale.
if we are stuck with india it would be nice to have something at least mediocre for once tho.

pretty much why i picked 2A4 as example, as far as i know, theres zero practical differences between non-premium variants.
no offense, im talking generally here, but lot of people dont realize that vehicles themselves are still intelectual property. Gaijin needs license to add them to the game, otherwise they would face lawsuits. Sure, not exactly stug IV as there are some statues of limitations if i recall my classes correctly (been a while since i had to deal with copyright stuff). But intelectual property laws are still an issue that needs to be taken into account. Moreso with cases when the company that created vehicle does not exist anymore and is next to impossible to find who owns the rights to the vehicle design.

sure, czechoslovakia and yugoslavia are examples of TTs that could work standalone, but lets be honest, there are lot that wouldnt. For example my issue with Turkish TT is that lot of its lower BR stuff are still 21st century design, like MRAPs with autocannon for SPAAs at 7.7 because turkey simply wouldnt be able to field any appropriate SPAAG.
not qualified to talk about naval. i dont like the mode, im not familiar with all the fine nuances that come with it. i just enjoy looking at large boats.

Yea I can understand that.
This is a genuine issue for me as well, it’s why coalition trees or foldered trees are the solution (even if Smim snuffed out option a). It’s that or we get more Israel like trees (which still have plenty of domestic options but gajin has some vehement refusal to add).

issue is, how would get coalition with who gets decided. again, wargame handles this pretty well, but thats fundamentally different game with fundamentally different needs for playability (and fundamentally different time traveling stuff. saying hi to padobranci 90, a 1990 unit, fielding a 2005 ATGM because reasons) and fundamentally different balancing issues.

As far as I’m concerned the UK tree should be CANZUK and SA, I’m not going to claim everyone because at some point in time we owned them or a part of them lmao.
to save the questioning here’s my thoughts on where countries should actually be
Germany just germany and Argentina as they don’t need any assistance from other countries.
USSR for USSR nations (would prefer china to have been there for less C&P)
America USA and the rest of south America that isn’t Argentina.
France should have Switzerland as they could do with the random vehicles from a country that hasn’t got enough to be its own tree more than Germany could ever.
BeNeLuX could have been its own tree its a tragedy, id put spain and Portugal with them too
Italy has hungary, id also have greece with them so its a medeterrainian tree
japan should keep Thailand.
Swedens doing just right with Scandinavia
Israel gets India due to collaborations in the past, makes sense to have countries that came into existence around the same together to be together too
It’d have to be by either region (which has some obvious exceptions) or relations (wether diplomatic or via military projects)
Also thought you said wargaming as in the company and got a vivid memory of the “pan europe” coalition in wows, combining Poland, Norway, Sweden, Greece, Turkey, Austria-Hungary and Yugoslavia (also used to have the Netherlands).
That ship sailed long ago for that to not be a bad idea to change to that

which is basically how wargame handles it. it even allows you to minmax decks (your armies simply put) with every NATO or PACT country, but you get some limitations on size of your army and access to prototype units (usually the best of the best stuff. NATO deck can have most of the stuff up until 1985, but cant take the most advanced abrams tanks for example).
this wouldnt obviously work in warthunder as there are no prototype units (well there are but prototype is loose term in relation to what i am saying. EFT is considered prototype unit for UK, so is chally 2).
so introducing this kind of lineup building for WT would most likely end up with players minmaxing their lineups and taking only the best options, which would be terrible for any balancing, and make off-meta vehicles even more off meta.

if you however mean that you personally dont claim everything under the sun, im fine with that argument, but lot of UK mains do.
So either we both generalise the nation mains, or we dont. No in between.
there are certainly some questionable choices but its just opinion at the end of the day.

anyway i simply dont believe they would work due to aforementioned meta-slaving and balance issues.

yes but I play a good bit of USSR and occasionally sealclub using 6.7 germany now too. tiger 2 is probably a little low in BR.
most the British mains on this forum don’t, most of us are in a discord server together so I know they arent.
