I dont agree with nations being split apart. its the main reason why I want Canada and Australia to be put into the British tree, to stop that happening to Canada and reduce the risk to Australia.
a non set tree nations vehicle should still go into the native tree, so that hunter should have been in Britain.
Oddly enough a similar thing happened the update before south Africa became a subtree. the Class 3P went to Germany as an event vehicle, meaning you can never play it with other SA vehicles. was absolutely an intentional thing to smack SA and Britain in the face like that
Germany has the best kv2, best t34, a p47, multiple kv1s, a yak and il2, better sabres, the f86k, the mig 29s su22s and mig 27s and 23s and soon the f5 and f18. oh and phantoms so yea no more ATP dont even play any other nations.
m48
Edit: Germany also has the m41, m109, m48ga2, m48 super, strela, and osa.
As a Swiss i just get personally pissed off by the arguments of why Switzerland should be in Germany. Because we are so similar and speak the same language, which is both not true.
With that reasoning it could have as well went to Italy or France, or Austria (oh wait, they already anexed them).
oddly enough i thought Switzerland should have gone to France, I don’t know much about the country but it gives off more french vibes than german (I know as an Englishman that sounds like an insult but its not) Italy would have been better as far as bolstering a trees offerings though.
Calling the Swiss German because one of your many main languages is german is also very silly.
They lost the war and actually unironically needed the coldwar/modern copy paste in air, USSR has plenty of captured copy paste in ww2, US not so much. Also technically half of Germany was part of the USSR for a while so it make sense to have a lot of those vehicles.
So as in the additions of indian vehicles up until this point arent good? And thats what makes the swiss subtree to germany bad because their additions are good?
As described in the previous comment. Britain phased out theirs while less wealthy airforces had to make do and upgraded their fleets. Thats why britain cant get more advanced ones unless theyre from different airforces.
Same with F-104s. Italy phased out theirs in 2004.
One year before F-22 got introduced into US service.
It is perfect example. A signature vehicle (much like Hunter) that suffers from being heavily exported and nation different from origin country having access to more (as case with sweden) or better variants (at certain point of game life cycle).
Germany is still under US occupation, just give it to the US as a subtree.
And since the US speaks english, Germany and the US need to be implemented in the UK tree.
Easy.
we sold some to the indians because they couldn’t (still cant) make a decent jet fighter as seen by what happened with Marut. The Swiss as they were also buying our Centurions and the Swedish, who were also buying our centurions.
this is second hand sales and sales so small its irrellevant. did forget about the dutch, they bought pretty much anything we would sell them. same with the saudis.
Its no American or Canadair sabre or fiat G91
and Rhodesia was still British at the time so doesn’t count. The rhodie hunter is the unobtainable premium btw, do want to get my hands on it.
I will give you sabres but you are dead wrong about the rest.
Sweden bought 120 hunters. With only some 1900 hunters being made thats also relevant number.
770 being made, significantly less than hunters, and was used only by italy, w.germany, greece and portugal. Much shorter list than that of hunter operators. (Also US tested 2 but only tested).
140 indian
only 24 in dutch
160 swiss but a lot were second hand and not bought directly
112 belgian. FOUR saudi SIX somali, seriously the somalians had more than the saudis
couple aircraft here and there for the others isn’t really anything, most of them were sold out of British, dutch and belgian airforces.
and still tiny compared to aircraft exports from other major arms seller countries
Second hand export is still export as there are usually origin country approval requirements.
And back to the original point, hunter was exported, and britain phased out theirs and moved onto more advanced design, whereas other countries had to upgrade theirs.
Sad fact, but nevertheless it means britain cant get more advanced hunters unless its from different airforce.
