The Eurosatory tank was constructed by KNDS Germany. Are you well? The pre production testbed from the rollout event wasn’t the Bundeswehr one either. Its went straight to BAAINBw for further testing & certification.
So, instead adding the BAAINBw testbed, just add the Eurosatory one.
From what i can gather there isnt confirmation that the german one actually has a LWS, at least in current form.
from KNDS brochures ive had a quick flick through there doesnt seem to be mentioning of a LWS AT ALL however this are only basic brochures that may not cover full vehicle specification details
Im aware. KNDS when it comes to anything other than their ammunition brochures are rather hit and miss for quality. That is what happens when you get a company owned by the french and german governments.
“So verfügt der norwegische 2 A8 über ein Laserwarnsystem aus israelischer Fertigung, während die deutschen Panzer mit einem solchen System aus heimischer Fertigung ausgerüstet werden sollen, das sich bereits in Nutzung befindet.”
I.e. The German Leopard 2A8 is not using the same LWS as the Norwegian one
Germany approved development and testing for on the 2a7V for future integration in the leo 3.
The 2a8 is not considered at all, maybe only way later once functionality was compeltly tested on the 2a7v.
They were just to lazy to put a 2a7 with it at the eurosatory and instead put it on their newest toy.
Thats why no broschure of teh 2a8 mentiond a soft kill aps system as well
What do you expect from gaijin else than russian bias? US is getting a worse 15ex variant than the Isrealis from what I know, while Isrealis haven’t recieved a single piece of that jet yet. They just love giving advanced leopards to all the countries else than Germany.
In my opinion, the reason they treat Germany this way is that there is a very large player base for Germany, and these players are already accustomed to the Leopard tanks. By providing strong Leopard variants to other nations, they encourage German-main players to branch out into those other tech trees—which, in turn, leads those same players to spend more money on premium vehicles and other in-game purchases. Essentially, they are intentionally holding Germany back to drive more players toward other nations, where they will end up spending money all over again.
As I mentioned in my previous posts, whatever happened to the 2A7V—it brought all these issues along with it—is now happening again with the arrival of the 2A8. Honestly, don’t even bother; even if you were the one to create the 2A8 yourself, we aren’t going to see any real improvements for German tanks in the game.
The real issue is that the German Leopards remain based on the 2A4 variant, whereas the Strv (Swedish) tanks—and others—are based on the 2A5. Even if the 2A9 were added to the game, it would still be based on the 2A4 platform, meaning nothing would really change for Germany.
The real issue is that the newly introduced tank was not built from the ground up; instead, composite armor was added to a 2A4, leaving it in a weaker state compared to the Leopard tanks of other nations.
