As the title says, from what i can see in-game the T-62M-1 doesn’t have it’s modernized fire control system, well… kind of has it, let me show you what i mean
This is the new fire control system the T-62M-1 uses, being the thing the gunner would look through to shoot something, pretty cool right?
BUT when you go into test drive/random battle it dissapears, and only the old sight remains
And when you use the “Aim through gunner sight” option (Or when you play sim) the gunner aims through the old optic and not through it’s new FCS
Also i heard somewhere that the T-62M-1 also had “Hunter-Killer” capabilities as in the commander being able to take control of the turret, this would mean in-game that you could shoot the gun with the commander if the gunner was knocked out like some top tier mbts, altough i’m not sure it.
So that’s pretty much it, i don’t know if this is a bug or not but considering the entire module is missing in battle it could be, and for the Hunter-Killer thingy if any of you know more about it plz share it in this post to saciate my infinite thirst for knowledge.
Well since you clearly haven’t bothered to look at literally any other Soviet or Russian mbt… the T-62M1 is not the only vehicle which is like that.
When it comes to such Soviet mbt’s they have 2 separate optics, a normal gunner sight they use and a separate sight that is used at night. Literally all Soviet mbt’s have their day and night sights separated as for older tanks they have the daytime sight beside the gun as you see in the gunner view in-game, meanwhile the night sight is always atop the turret. When you get from the T-64 and as late as the T-80U you still have both sights separated as the gunner sight is now not beside the gun, but the night sight is separate and behind the daytime sight. In-game the night-time sight will either be covered or open and it can change with certain vehicles depending on what modifications they have, with them either being covered by a panel and secured by bolts or a movable cover. This sort of feature even continued after the fall of the Soviet Union as the T-90A has it like that still despite having a thermal sight, the T-72B3, T-80BVM, and T-90M have separated sights despite the thermal optic being the primary gunner sight now, though the old daytime sight was removed from the BVM and a new separate optic was placed beside the thermal sight.
Also, that sight has nothing to do with any hunter killer capability, and even then, would serve no purpose in-game as it is not a commander override system but rather enables the commander to designate a follow-up target for the gunner.
Not exactly. The new Volna fire control was directly integrated with a new TShSM-41U optic, which was mounted next to the gun, same as where the old T-62 sight was.
TShSM-41U
The optic you’ve circled is the independent auxiliary 1K13-2, used for night vision and ATGM guidance, as well as a backup if the primary TShSM-41U is damaged.
Partially true. The commander’s periscope could cue the turret to targets using the left thumb button on their controls.
But, its not direct control of the gun, it only slews the turret to the direction of the periscope. They have no control over the gun elevation and they can’t fire it.
Thanks for the info! Well someone should make a bug report about the entire sight being missing tho, would be cool if you wanted to use ATGMs in sim it switched to the 1K13-2
Gaijin might be wanting to add auxiliary sight mechanics in the future, but the game doesn’t really have those mechanics yet. So not exactly a bug, more of a mechanic suggestion.
Yeah for sure, altough still the ENTIRE module is missing in-game, it appears on the hangar in X-RAY but not in-battle, that might be a bug, but using it as an auxiliary sight would be a cool suggestion nevertheless
