tbh I’ve had more luck with Magic 2s than stuff like R73s, ofc they dont pull as hard but they seem more flare resistant in a lot of uses but could just be me. I’de love Magic 2s to get there IRL stats but I can see that forcing gaijin to push other missiles ahead too which isnt what we need rn when BRs are still gunna be an issue and furballs at top tier
Using FOX-3 is really fun however if you are at altitude you are at a great disadvantage compared to people hugging the deck. They are able to just rush you hugging the deck abusing multipathing and making it a no skill furball…
F.3R standard
Thanks for correction, i knew it was around that.
Btw can you ask for the last bug report on Magic-2 to be introduced into the game?
Having this video as proof that gaijin itself consider the Magic-2 as worst Top-Tier IRmissile right now should be enough to get it debunked more than the only change presented in Devserver:
(From 6min 10seconds)
yeah, people are larping now in dev server flying high and all that but once things calm down everyone will go back to flying-low meta and Fox3 will be as useless as fox 1. It’s a shame Gaijin doesn’t want to nerf multipathing.
I think they should just make maps larger and actually scatter SAMs and AA systems around to deter on deck flying especially in a top tier meta
Difference is, that Fox-3’s would be useful radar guided missiles at close range.(unlike the AIM-54 FOX-3 though)
The biggest issue with them currently is that people can just hug the ground and launch them at ranges where it is impossible to dodge
I mean even now people are still sticking to the low altitude meta. It feels as though, while there are some people (like myself) who are doing their level best to try and play around and see how the missiles might function, I feel that it is rather pointless.
If we were going for the strictly irl only, it should be more effective, but only against missiles without Inverse Monopulse/Monopulse seekers. I would wager AIM-120 has some sort of onboard system that gets it around this, or just has an Inv. Monopulse seeker. It would make sense, seeing as it borrows things from the AIM-7 to a degree
I do agree, that’s an issue that I wasn’t expecting. I was hoping people would sling missiles at high alt, dive for deck and go for IR at low alt/close range. Trouble is, people are doing a mix of both.
Feedback:
Overlofting is a huge issue, R-77 and PL-12 completely overshoot targets
LoAL missing
Unsurprisingly R-Darter and Derby are way better than any other missile
Airframes not even close to comparable
Ofc MICA needs proper model
I feel like lofting and LOAL issues are related to the new radar mechanics
I can’t wait to try FOX3 meta in the current 16v16 small spain 24/7 rotation that is live rn
we can’t keep 16v16
can the fox-3 missiles be fired in maddog mode?
yes. Edit: you need softlock and then you can yeet out
maddog mode would let you fire even with no soft lock
Worst of the 4 best is still the best.
Perhaps if you drop the player count to a less cancerous amount there won’t be over 100 missiles with ARH? Some more ARB maps that have considerable amount of terrain and objectives spread out?
Other than that ARH are great, I hope they find their way into the game, it’s not like 12.7 isn’t already a point and click adventure but with 16 v 16 with ARH I think the novity will wear off fast, yeah people will use them, but the 16 v 16 will be too much spam with not enough terrain for cover that could hurt player retention at that BR.
Yea Air-RB and Air-SB need a reduction in team sizes, otherwise this is going to be a chaotic disaster.
I wonder whether the Servers can track around 60-100 missiles at the same time without problems…
You don’t need terrain cover when you can just hug the ground
