I guess is the new chasis for type 89 ifv turret

Looks more like the C-UAS ifv

Because the Type 87 was too expensive to procure in large numbers, and the AH-64 procurement was also botched, neither could be fielded in sufficient numbers. So, I assume they were deemed not worth upgrading.

Japan could definitely use that SPAA if devs would change their mind on blueprint vehicles. Is it closed top or would it be more similar to the ostwind 2?

It doesn’t prove anything, just a small observation.

Stop… Doesn’t this mean that the new car will have a rear wheel drive?
the landing door is highlighted in green

Perhaps, but more likely it’s just to provide access to the idler wheel for tensioning or something. Given where the door is the transmission wouldn’t fit unless they’re doing something extremely fancy and expensive

I just realized how inconsistent Gaijin is with naming Japanese missiles. The air-to-air missiles are named by their relative name (AAM-3, AAM-4) instead of their proper by-year name (Type 90 air-to-air missile, Type 99 air-to-air missile), just like the air-to-surface missiles, while surface-to-air missiles are the exact opposite (Type 03 instead of SAM-4, etc.).

Why is it this way? Shouldn’t Gaijin try to unify this?

Tbf, neither naming sheme is wrong. I guess they chose to do it this way, as its “simplier” for the crowd to understand ‘which one is which’, as its currently also per their publicly most known designations / names.

It also doesn’t bother anyone either really.

Because AAMs names are more common for that weapons in public and Type 03/93/81 names are more common for SAMs

It is made for easier using and “unification” will be no more than name messing. They only what should be done - adding additional name to the statcard name (the full one which visible in card)

Okay, but using the ‘‘relative’’ naming (AAM-xy, ASM-xy, SAM-xy) would be understandable just as easily. AAM-4? You know that’s an air to air missile right away. SAM-1C? Obviously a surface to air missile.

Using just ‘‘Type xy’’ doesn’t tell you that unless you add the rest of the name, fe. Type 03 surface-to-air missile, but then wouldn’t just SAM-4 be much more convenient in the killfeed?

Oh yeah no doubt this is very far down there as far as the game’s issues go, but it triggers my OCD, for me it’s as if you wrote a letter and used comic sans for one half and calibri for the other half. xD

Would be cool to have premiums or event vehicles due to their historical value, even if it’s not 100% historically accurate.
