General Japanese & Thai Ground Forces Discussion HQ

Besides I don’t think any of the other communities want a 100% realistic adaptation of the tank itself. 100% adaptation is not the goal here and honestly it would make it the best tank in the game. Way too overpowered to do that. Adding modules, and fixing the armor is what needs to be done and then I think we as the Japanese ground community would be happy with that

I think you and I can both agree, we’d all be happy with a little more armor and modules added. It’d be very nice of them to do, and it’d be correcting the mistake they made when the tank was added to begin with

You said you have information especially about Type 90 thermal and sights
It is what interesting especially thermal matrix of it’s sight

Yes indeed. The tank is not a slouch at all apparently. From what I read and what’s assumed from the docs, it’s the same magnification as the type 10
4x13.3
I’ll work on that tank next, I just need time off cause I’ve spent 2 weeks in the last month working on the type 10
And I’ve started this process back in may or June of 2024 so as you can tell I’m exhausted

If penetration is not a problem why bother to report it?

I would be a bit careful with that claim if you are using the +1,271 kg and +559 kg for the hull and turret armour, respectively. The ~2x armour claim appears to be based on a projection, from my understanding, which suggests that its armour is potentially 3,200 kg rather than 4,460 kg.

Crew + Ammunition + Small arms = 1200 kg
Crew + Ammunition + Small arms + Armour = 4400 kg
Armour = 3200 kg

Also it’s assumed the gun of the type 90 may be able to fire the type 10 round

Although I’m not going to say that 100% for sure since I’d have to go back through the pages and read them carefully. For now though gen 2 thermals and 4x13.3 magnification for the gunners sight is what’s listed

Wow! The American Heritage Museum (you may know them as the current holders of the last surviving Ho-Ro) have recently announced the restoration of a Type 97 Te-Ke.

Interesting still, they have determined this vehicle to be a rare gas scattering variant, although I am not sure if this is exactly what they plan to restore it to, but they did mention to be looking for an accompanying trailer.

Spoiler

They intend to restore it to running condition with the original Ikegai 65hp diesel engine, and are requesting technical materials to assist in restoration, so I was wondering if there’s anything available to contribute.

This only refers to the modular turret cheek and UFP composite blocks. The composite behind the mantlet is not removable.

I hope that document is declassified?

Ups I forgot about that, but I doubt the breach armour makes up the 1,260 kg that are missing? That sounds way too heavy.
