Was the Heavy Tank No. 5 even a thing? The panther with the flat turret checks and a Japanese gun.

Yes and no.
Japan did buy a Panther D, which by the same naming as the Tiger would be “Heavy Tank No. 5”, but this tank wasn’t able to be shipped to Japan, just like the Tiger, so even if there was plans to modify it (not sure if there was) it couldn’t get to that point. Instead all German tanks Japan bought were rented back out to the Wehrmacht as it was clear they couldn’t be delivered.
CTWV RCV has officially received its designation of Type 25 RCV (Type 24 ICV is already implemented the name in japanese localisation)

There is a never ending list of bugs on the type 10, its meant to accelerate and reverse faster than the type 90 (currently the type 90 outpaces it)
Turret armor is meant to withstand its own shell (Type 10 120mm APFSDS) on the front composites from 250m+
doesnt almost flip over at a sharp turn meanwhile in WT u might just flip

If we want Japan to stay relevant in anti-air, we really do need the Chu-SAM… and ground BRs increased to 13.0.
