Are you sure you aren’t mixing up a few things? The “designs” were sketches made by the Soviets, they weren’t captured from Kōtō Fortress. The image of its “turret” is unrelated and is just a random fortress gun at one of the Manchurian fortresses. However, it’s not from Kōtō Fortress, as we already know what all of its fortress guns looked like and, while that resembles them, that specific turret is none of them; meaning it’s from one of the other border fortresses.
With all available evidence, it’s effectively fake in the same way that tanks like the Mitsu-104 are fake; in that there is not any evidence of their existence outside of foreign sources.
They could have added the T33, JASDF Vampire and the T-1 to fill in the replacing jets.
But again the OI never existed.

Most likely it’s a test of a Chi-To.
There is surviving documentation of its hull being built and tested. The surviving track link is what survived of it after the hulk inevitably sunk into the mud and was subsequently scrapped, and that was before the turret was ever completed.
There is no confusion over it being a “test of a Chi-To,” the documents directly reference the O-I as the tank being tested.
That would be some insane marketing, “send the Japanese empire a blueprint on this specific plane so it can be used in a film many years into the future”

It’s a beautiful plane. If it was 5.0 I’d play it a lot more, at 6.0 it’s still very outclassed. Or maybe they should give it a hilarious UFO flight model, that’d be entertaining.

EDIT 2: as a sidenote i’m pretty sure that’s the excellent (and expensive) 1/32 Zoukei-Mura model kit. It’s in my wishlist and I’m tempted to get it on christmas…
The original J7W was unarmed, and never was fitted with any guns.
It was a interceptor demonstrator. that’s all it is to it.
besides having removed the R2Y2 the J7’s should also have been removed because there is no proof or images if it fielding any guns.
