General Japanese & Thai Ground Forces Discussion HQ

Ive been trying to figure out the differences between the 81C and type 11 but overall from what i can find the only difference really is the ARH seeker
but with the same ARH seeker being placed on the 81 missile that kinda just turns it into a type 11 then no?

Like 1 or 2 sources state a 15km range on the type 11 while others state the same 10km range we already have

Some sources state the ARH upgrade for the 81 also included a motor upgrade to increase its range/smokeless
But that the type 11 did not include those same changes which would actually make it worse then which makes no sense

Basically im just tryna find some actual sources explaining the differences between the 2
And regardless it kinda just sounds like the 81C upgrade just turns it into a type 11

Updated Easy 8 model, still not the correct model that Japan used.

So despite Sweden is getting a post-war Chaffee but it is not given to Japan aswell eventhough Japan was widely operated this same variant ?

Interestingly the Japanaese M24 in the CDK appeared to be finished in remodel with side-skirts removed, radio box added and overall model overhaul (this is a completely new Chaffee model not the same one from US tree)
The only differences between Japanese and the Danish version is the lacks of backpack decorations and tracks, Japanese one has old wide and non-padded tracks.

All I care about the Japanase Chaffee is if it sports the cherry blossom emblem lol, also whats exactly missing in the Japanese Easy Eight in-game? Looks pretty good to my untrained eye lol

Also can any expert tell me if this mortar system can fire at like 0 degree angle? Or will the shell just fall off since its technically a mortar?

mortar shell have safety fuze that requires it to travel certain distance before it can detonate, even if you manage to fire it level to the ground the shell will just plop out 100m away and do nothing

That is another thing that Gaijin should be start doing. For some reason they could add French and Italian flags on their copy&paste vehicles so people don’t get them confused for either an enemy or friendly vehicle in a certain game mode, but not for Japan’s American tanks despite most of Japanese tanks during cold war had massive Japanese flags painted on them along with other markings.

Since it is not very often to see Japanese AFV along side foreign vehicles so here is an Type 16 driving past an Australian Abrams and its crews.

The Type 81C ARH missile in dev server now has a working ‘‘maddog’’ mode - you can launch them without the FCS vehicle.

Fuji Firepower Exercise 2025

Slight disappointed they didn’t demonstrate live firing , And the ICV didn’t show up for some reason but at least an official annoucement.

RCV still didn’t get “Type 2X” designation…

It did. At 1:02:09 they call it 25式偵察警戒車

So Type 25? Makes me feel old…

Ah really? Confused that they haven’t written it on screen.
So it is cool!

I really hate how Gaijin simply call them RCV and ICV, it’s not even what the vehicle is called before they are officially designated Type 25.

Try to turn like this with the Type 10 in WT, you come to a halt instantly. Why can’t Gaijin fix the Type 10 steering issues?
