yeah in training ground it probably fine, but in matchmaking? beside spawn point that rarely have cover? putting them not close together is nigh impossible. putting one launcher at a time is probably the most realistic here, and not on the radar vehicle when it’s the most important is kinda foolish.
i just wish you can carry 2 separate launcher with each only ARH or IR, because right now if one of your launcher have ARH and the other have IR loaded, it will be impossible to get a lock and launch
I know I promised you guys a video on the type 10 and TKX guys
I unfortunately got injured
Unfortunately I had some things to sort out with my PC
I have to redownload warthunder all over again
I will be back up by tomorrow and I’m looking at either a Tuesday or Wednesday release
Key points that we are going to be going over
The armor
Model inaccuracies
Mobility inaccuracies
Honestly if the mods/devs keep doing this I’m never not going to be able to have a video
There’ll be content for each week of the month to do a video on
Do we have any sources on the vertical coverage of the Type 81 radar system? We have to do something about it, since 20 degrees is absolutely dog. Obviously the radar would also be angled slightly upwards (at least 10 degrees from what I could find so far), but that would only help a little. I am fairly certain the radar has much more vertical coverage than what we get in the game (dev) right now.
The only source at all that talks about vertical scan coverage that I’ve found is a really sketchy Russian propaganda website and suspiciously lines up with the figures Gaijin is using… And of course they don’t list any sources naturally.
Looking at videos and pictures of the FCS vehicle, it seems that the tilt can be manually controlled, something we do not yet have in game and that would greatly help the system. Can’t give you the exact numbers, but JGSDF never tilts less than 10 degrees, the picture below seems to have the radar dish tilted even more than that.
I’d say gaijin shoud either give us ability to tilt the radar manually, or set it to a fairly confortable 15 degrees. That itself would already help quite a lot.
Scrambled some pictures and a short video showing the missing tilt of the radar. Couldn’t find any sources on the radar vertical coverage, but at least something.
I think your speculation is correct: it can be operated. The specification states that the antenna driving mechanism can direct the radar to certain azimuth and elevation angles.
The radar should support both 360° search with coarse tracking, and partial-area search with precise tracking while the antenna is fixed at an arbitrary azimuth angle. Therefore, the latter mode appears to be missing. This should be reported as another issue too.
