General Japanese & Thai Ground Forces Discussion HQ

Unfortunately those aren’t trailers, so gaijin can’t just use the existing trailer mechanic to add them.

And while searching for any other photos, I came across one of Smin’s old Reddit comments. I find it a bit ironic because to me, modern Gaijin feels a bit like the JP franchise in the way that they resurrect beasts of the past by filling in the “DNA” with elements that they themselves have inserted, thus denying said beasts 100% authenticity.

Also found something interesting to add as event vehicle:

Nah, I don’t really see the event material in this one, it uses the same shells as the M4A3 (105), so the gun is nothing special, and the hull is that of the M24, so nothing new either.

For an event SPG, perhaps the prototype Type 75 would be a good candidate? Compared to the one we have in-game, it lacks the turret (and subsequently the 50.cal as well), as well as additional ammo storage, meaning the 18-round autloader is what you have to work with. Perhaps either the M107 (PF) and/or Type 75 shells could be removed for balance as well.

Would like to have Type 87 prototype

Is it autoloaded? Wouldn’t it be right behind the gun?

Not sure, I recall there being two prototypes tested, one with and one without a loading system. This may just be the manually loaded one.

afaik they made this chassis and then kinda gave up

Its supposed to get a new turret instead of reusing the old Type 89 one but idk if its happened yet or if it will ever happen.
Wish they’d be more considerate to War Thunder players by at least replace the missiles on the Type 89 so we’re not stuck with the almost ancient Jyu-MAT

I love how this Ground vehicles thread is more active than JASDF, IJAAF thread. :DDD
