further proof the GCS-1 tracks tanks, with data/links from japans mod.go (public info) and such

if I find i’ll 100% send, I really want the GCS-1 for japan. it’ll be super unique and fun for japans kit
With ASMs added as anti ship weapon there’s really no more reason to delay them even without that info. The models already exist, so it should only be a matter of time.

its about half way usable in the game as well if u load it into a custom map
it would help reinforce japans kit too, F-1 (10.0) EJ(10.7), EJ Kai (11.3), F-2 (12.7)

ASM-2 can lock target that temperature is 15 ± 5 degree higher than the surface or sea whatever,
and here also say GCS-1 can only lock target that temperature is 65 ± 15 degree higher

It is written only about sea surface as I understand
I mean I’m really not sure how much difference they define sea surface temperature compared to surface temperature, maybe same or a bit higher
I mean, its known to have clutter rejection, no? So as long as its above the threshold it should be fine. But yeah 65 degrees is unreasonable to expect from an air to ground scenario for the GCS-1 on most maps.
Seems like HE damage dont work.
Ho-103 using air targets sometimes feels like shooting peas
other weapons also.

I have created a bug report on the AH-1S’s lacking their JM261 Rocket pods and attached the source
Hopefully gaijin will finally correct their mistake and apply the correct rockets
