Update: perhaps having our dear leader BVVD taking up like half the extra space was not the wisest decision

BUT IT WORKS!

I really dont get why Gaijin cares, there is literally ZERO information on KA-88A, LS-6 (IR), HOSBO and Kh-38MT IR-seeker capabilities yet they just gave them generic AGM-65D based seeker and called it a day…

It’s very selective, I agree.

I also considered making a pointing soyjack as the sight. Maybe I will do that for Ki-44-II Otsu…

put the words shoot here now!

Looks very cool, I’m part of a group working on an indie air combat game, in the vein of Ace Combat but with more realistic elements like WT, focusing on smarter enemy AI and realistic difficulty across the board, emphasizing quality instead of quantity of targets, which is why it should have limited missiles but expanded carriage with twin or triple pylons and ability to RTB and restock, trying to not go too off topic but it’s true that WT was a big inspiration. Jets are meant to be the same as real life but basically on steroids just like this concept right here.

Personally I think that’s a really interesting approach when done like Saryn did there. Basically taking an older aircraft and “modernizing” it based on a mix of testbeds and just generally newer weapons technology.

For example on an F-15C/J I think things like the F-15 STOL/MTDs canard and TVC systems and F-15J IRST testbed would go really well together, maybe throw in some Silent Eagle and newer weapons systems from the EX for good measure. There’s usually a lot of demonstrator aircraft, prototypes or even just concepts that would go really well as inspiration for a game like that and can be really fun to find for players to go “Huh that was actually a real thing” when they see it.

Or the cursed option, that's always there

F-2 I taste colors now

I appreciate you like the sketch, It was one of the aircraft I felt would make this story unique twist because it’s in a world where basically the cold war went hot and the defense industries basically have a blanc cheque.
I have for most of the major powers unique variations of their aircraft based on real life proposals, prototypes or experimental aircraft.

If you want I could draw the following aircraft of Japan in that story.
The list of the JEAF (Japanese Expeditionary air forces equipment)
68x Mitsubishi F-1A Kais
48x Mitsubishi T-2A Kais
12x Mitsubishi T-2BR Kai’s (Recon attack variant of the T-2)
24x F-4EJ Kai
62x F-4EJ Kai NG (upgraded F-4EJ Kai for deep strike and cas capability along with the J/APG-2 radar installation)
12x RF-4E Kai NG (Upgeaddd RF-4E but with J/APG-2 radar and upgraded ELINT pod built by Mitsubishi.
48x F-2C Kai (Mitsubishi FS-X design revised with J/APG-2 and up to the modern F-2 standard) still being produced.
2x P-1 AWACS

JASDF equipment
24x F-14A Kai, (Produced by Mitsubishi, modernised up to the F-14D Sta.21 standard but with Japanese avionics)
86x F-15J(J-MSIP II, type 2 modernisation)
32x F-15DJ(J-MSIP II, type 2 modernisation + IRST)
64x Mitsubishi F-2A (the same one we have irl but with JHMCS)
32x Mitsubishi F-2B (Same one we have irl)
64x F-35A
28x F-35B
44x Mitsubishi F-3 (Based on the 24/25DMU)
4x P-1 AWACS (AWACS variant of the Kawasaki P-1)

  1. Because both the F-4EJ Kai NG and T-2A/B/F-1 Kai’s have 3 dimensional RWR, based on the RWR system that was tested on the F-2A 502 irl. They are also capable of being used in a SEAD and DEAD role using modified versions or standard versions of the AAM-4B
  2. although the RWR was only tested on the F-2A
  3. I just gave it to the F-4EJ Kai NG and the T-2A/B/F-1A Kai’s.

There are also aircraft of other nations, and military vehicles of other nations.
I just like the idea of some "Outdated or older"aircraft to be upgraded to modern standards.
But that’s primarily because due to conflicts being more apparent in the story, privateers become one of the major participants in those conflicts.

Yeah pretty much, plan is for the F-15C/D family to be a combination of the C + E with all the air to ground capabilities + a few extras, mechanical radar, IRST and also the missile count of the Golden Eagle.
The F-16C/D family should be a mix of the C Blk.50 and Blk.60 with mechanical radar, IRST and the triple a2a missile racks that were proposed for the Blk.70 like so:
is-it-possible-to-have-triple-rack-a2a-missiles-and-sniper-v0-uh7sayx2fkh61

The reason “western” countries did such a thing in lore is because the counterpart of the USSR survived until 1999 so they kept roiding the hell out of their jets with everything to counter.

Shouldn’t the J7W1 have the Ha-43-44 (around 100 more hp) because that was the engine intended for the armed production model? only the unarmed porotype flew with the -42. Could this be bug reported?

Ill do anything to get this thing more hp or an air defence fighter spawn. Its fun to play but needs alt to even function beyond being p51 bait ho ha ha.

This old bug report includes some useful info on the -44 specifications: Community Bug Reporting System

Interceptor without interceptor spawn, classic gaijin

According to this, 2 prototypes of the ASM-3 Improved have been finished, and will be tested in this month, August 2026 !
Can’t wait to get more info about it :D.
I think I’ll try to make a suggestion about it, following my ASM-3A one.

a bid solicitation from ATLA’s Gifu Test Center was posted around March 2, 2026 and was procuring flight-test support services specifically for performance verification testing (launch testing) of ASM-3 (Kai), for fiscal year Reiwa 7 (which runs through March 2026, but the launch campaign itself extends into the following months).

From today’s post:

Is this an error, or by MFD they also mean radar screens? If so, does anyone have any info how it could look like - can’t find any images on the net.
Plus fingers crossed that they use this opportunity to finally correct the f-1 cockpit itself…

Edit. Ok did some more research and apparently it’s supposed to be similar to radar on british phantoms but you can still correct me if I’m wrong
