General Dynamics Griffin III IFV: The 50mm Armor Shredder

Good, i’ll be the CV90 hiding in the background as it fights with the 2S38

I think the KF41 could carry some if wanted but don’t think they’ve decided on it yet, maybe in the future

Edit:
Not finding any drone options for any CV90s but some obviously have SPIKE and AKERON missiles that could work instead

  • The newer model, CV90 MK4 has a Counter-UAS system, the mast on the turret searches for drones and sends that info to both the gunner and nearby allied vehicles
At which point you use the main gun with air-burst and let loose or just let the APS system handle it if they get close

But i don’t really trust air-burst shells that much as they seem rather RNG when it comes to drones in WT when i use the CV, can put a whole mag into a drone and you either do no damage or just get “Hit”
Sometimes they even struggle against normal Jets, as if a bunch of fragments didn’t just go flying everywhere

Have any devs seen this? Would this not be a good fit for USA high tier ground tree?

the US ground vehicle that has been passed for consideration from January is the M10 Booker, maybe check back next month

And what do you know about the Israeli involvement in the development of the 50 mm gun?

Not much tbh, just provided specs from the site. I know Picatinny had involvement and provided the design to Northrop Grumman. If you have more info please share

I think this vehicle will be highly similar to GDLS’s new XM30 presenter. This is speculatory but I think it will likely use the same hull and similar turret but modified to further meet new requirements. The rear hatch will likely be modified to meet the Army’s requirement/focus on a quick disembark from the vehicle, especially in an emergency situation. As for the Hexagon tiling, I don’t think it will be included in the final design.

Would be a cool vehicle

Since I am reminded of this vehicle, I want to mention that there is actually a more modern variant that usually tends to fly under the radar. It was revealed in a series of photos by GDLS in April of 2020, however it was not present at any exhibition, so it can be assumed that it is only a tech demonstrator model.

The first public demonstration of combat vehicles under the American MPF program

In fact, aside from the upcoming Lynx-based XM30 prototype, there is another tracked 50mm platform I can think of; the Griffin I TD ATLAS testbed. Also a rather obscure prototype, this is the hull of the original Griffin I (yes, the one with the 120mm), that has been mated with an ALAS-MC turret, armed with the 50mm XM913.

What is most interesting about this testbed, however, is that it is equipped with an advanced AI-powered battlefield target identification system that is capable of both identifying visible targets and formatting them into a list for the gunner to choose from, and aiming the gun when said target is selected. The system can also automatically recommend ammunition type and fire mode (burst, full-auto, or single) to best deal with the threat.

For game purposes, this pretty much equates to aimbot, although it is worth noting that as of now the system can only aim center mass and thus will not target weakpoints, something that would be useful in WT.

the model shown off at 0:43 just looks very much like a CV90, is it supposed to look like that in the future or did they just do a quick copy patse model?

I assume copy paste model since that is neither a Griffin III hull nor an ALAS-MC turret. Some recent renders also display characteristics from the Katalyst NGEA, which is another fancy tech demonstrator from GDLS that uses a 30mm.
