GBUS and Skippers aren't working properly

Hello all!

About 1 and 4 GBUS that are laser guided, specifically the GBU-10, GBU-12, and the AGM 123 Skipper, comepletely lose laser lock and seem to divert violently from the target. The laser maintains lock the entire time. This can be replicated in a test drive.

Yeah, its been reported I believe.

Surprised it wasn’t fixed with this update.

Yeah, its not just you. Ive been experiencing this as well.

I dont think ive noticed it changing course, but rather the CCIP point seems incorrect and the bomb is just straight up missing the target

Yep they are all super bugged atm, seems to affect lots of laser guided munitions. Test drive and live games, very easy to replicate. Plenty of bug reports and forums posts up but not a single on has been acknowledged… so frustrating!

Has the Skippers issue been resolved? Are they working as intended?

I have avoided using my TRAM for awhile now, waiting for the bugs with these to be addressed.

Thank you!

All laser guided munitions have been fixed since a recent (I can’t remember which, but it wasn’t long ago) update, so yes.

@Code_649 - Thank you for confirming. Have you been able to successfully use these at the previously confirmed range of 23km+.

During test flights, I am unable to get successful hits at ranges over 4km.

I did review the discussion above - which seems to indicate that the skippers can no longer be used at long range.

Appreciate your clarification.

again?

I’m in test flights now and cannot get them to engage over 4km. Note: I was very comfortable using them from 23K+ originally so I do not believe this to be user error.

AGM-123’s range according to the stat card ingame is 20 km, but you could/should probably expect ~12-15 km in somewhat ideal launch conditions. 20 km is probably only happening if you’re super high and at Mach 1.

Onto the laser thing, iirc laser guidance starts around 3 km max, any further and the laser isn’t visible enough to its seeker.
