Why can’t the F-15E have the GBU-53? The Su-34 has the Grom-2 which can explode strongly and fly far, while the GBU-53 is similar but it can find its own target when launched from more than 50km away.
Does it have a MMW seeker? In that case, dont get your hopes it
IIR, SALH, MMW with GPS/INS
Just model it without the MMW since the devs are too stupid to implement multi-spectrum smoke.
But the reason it’s not in-game currently is that is far beyond the “stored kills” capability of any weapon in-game.
what’s MMW seeker?
Millimeter wave radar. Used in A2G radar systems
is it the same function as the F15E’s ground radar?
No. When people say MMW in regards to weapon guidance, think of it as an ARH missile for ground vehicles.
Edit: but once launched would behave identically to a Spike or Maverick.
It has a two way (Link-16 compatible) datalink, so can be retargeted in flight.
So would be eligible for MiTL guidance if it is ever implemented. also the Same way the SDB-I is carried they can be loaded onto the F-15E / A-10C / F-16C, so there are lots to go around.
I doubt they ever give that capability to anything in-game.
Datalinked GBU-15s when…
I’d much prefer the addition of the “Short Chord” variants (allows missiles to be carried alongside the store on the F-15’s wing station), and AGM-130 (Kh-29T / PGM-2000 equivalent), And I guess the BLU-118 Warhead (FAE has a 40:1 (at least on the S-13DF, before it was removed) TNTe so 250kg * 40 = 10,000kg is quite a large explosive radius) as an option if we’re wishlisting.
They arent in grom-2 type, thats gliding bomb, but with seeker
Maybe counterpart for… PGMs maybe
why not
