R-73 is effected too.
I had that strange experience around early-mid Dec, 2025.
Had two Pl-8B’s in a row be single flared by afterburning F-16 from 850-900m at almost perfect rear aspect. No preflaring.
I understand that gatewidth IRCCM isnt end-all be-all, but if those pretty much perfect conditions are still somehow not enough for it to work, I dont even know what it.
Naturally, I assume every getewidth missile is
That is my experience aswell, they barely work better than an AIM-9L, which isnt saying much.
Has anyone made a bug report? Also why does nobody talk about such a huge bug?
Its incredibly difficult to actually bug report, because its so subjective, and probably half server related, so not necessarily testable in a custom match with a friend.
Aim-9M has been a right chore to get a few bug reports written and forwarded and a big part of that was a Senior Tech mod doing some investigating too.
they also like docs for things that could very much be a game bug, which is an annoying circle of futility
Honestly R-73 are useless right now and i notice the problem on the Magic 2 too
Something needs to change
What needs to change is a complete and total overhaul of IR signatures, Flares, IR seekers, etc etc. But it probably will never happen. We’ll be using IRIS-Ts, And ASRAAMs, etc that’ll be 1 flare defeated
Idk but it feels like the IRCCM isnt there at all
Its probably not half the time. Aim-9M for example straight up doesnt work in front aspect, which is just downright stupid, but alas, it is
R-73 miss a target from rear aspect on 1km range because the target flares one time
Yeah, there is something not right at the moment, but its where the fault lies which is the tricky bit
Well honestly thats their job to find out
dont be silly, its only their job to fix a bug report if they feel like it. Not to investigate issues themselves
Then why dont they accept datamines in bug reports? If people tell them something doesnt work then the developers should fin the issue and fix it
In part its because the code is a mess.
Just because its says X in one place, doesnt necessarily mean X in-game because Y elsewhere might be interacting with it. So X might be a totally bodged figure that gets the desired result, or near-desired result when combined with Y
I think the reason for that is that people will easily misinterpret datamines/other data. However I do wish the devs would explain changes more, and do a bit in regards to bug reporting.
We also just need more bug reporting mods, and better acceptance/implementation rates.
When there is a problem with a computer you order is it also your job to find the issue?
Let alone an overhauled bug reporting website.
Its impossible to actually search for existing reports half the time. The slightest difference in wording, a report might not even appear.
