Hi,
I have recently just returned from holiday and tried to play WT. Before my trip everything was working, however now I cannot play the game.
When I load up the launcher, it goes to the login details page fine, but then begins to flicker, with different colours, small black squares can appear over the screen and sometimes random lines of text. If I continue through the launcher past this point, the game freezes completely. My fans begin working extremely hard and I don’t even make it to the garage. At this point I either get the BSOD and my laptop quickly restarts, or I get the option to submit a crash report to WT.
I have restarted my PC, I have updated all my drivers and BIOS, I have checked for windows updates, I have reinstalled the game multiple times. I have also explored turning off GeForce overlay, tried toggling the anti-cheat, tried toggling vsync, disabled the firewall, to no avail. This appears to only be a problem as I attempt to log into WT and also on the GeForce Experience App.
I have looked at my Laptops Reliability History and found that Hardware errors with code 141 are being reported around the time of each crash and on my Event Viewer, a whole variety of things are occurring.
Any idea what this could be? Please help!

Launch RTX 2060 and 2070 have a high likelihood of defects on their silicon.
Mine did, which is why I RMA’d mine in 2021 when the defect showed evidence.
If you purchased a launch RTX 2060 and it is the cause, your best options are warranty if it’s still available or upgrade.
You can always rule out Windows corruption by doing the following:
In admin started command prompt:
Repairing system command:
sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Thanks for the response Alvis,
Having tried out my laptop on GTA V, just to check it wasn’t a WT issue, the same thing happens over there - random lines appear and occasional flickering, the game crashes before it opens. Are you aware if this is a typical of the graphics card silicon issue?
I bought the ASUS laptop from new with the RTX2060 already installed, back in 2021. Looks like my warranty has run out now. Do you think I can just replace the graphics card with an alternative? That would sure save me alot of money and headaches.
Oh… laptop? You might need an entirely new PC.
I assumed desktop forgetting that NVidia stopped the mobile GPU branding a while ago.
Do the Windows repairs to see if it still continues.
If it continues, it’s likely hardware related and the only solution I ever came up with for laptops is new computer.
I have performed the windows repairs and it says the following:
I take it this is acceptable?
I’ll try and contact ASUS tomorrow and see if they can recommend anything
Yes. You’ve done everything you can Windows side.
Any further issues would be hardware.
You could see to bringing it to a computer repair store in your city [if you have one] to get their opinion if the issue is still present.
Ok I’ll see what I can do, fingers crossed it works out in my favour. Thanks for your help Alvis and raising the fact it is a common defect with the graphics cards from inception, rather than my fault.
Thanks.
