Okay, so for the past like year has been unplayable for me, since I’ve changed my monitor from a 60Hz one to a 240Hz one.
First of all, my GPU usage spikes to 95%-99% when setting SSAA to 4X.(I am using an RTX 3060Ti)
When playing my game freezes for like 10+ seconds if there’s too much going on (multiple enemy tanks assaulting me, plane spamming rockets at me etc.) sometimes even reaching 20+ seconds freezes.
When disabling SSAA, the GPU usage goes usually below 60% but the game looks horrible.
I’ve seen people say this happens because of uncapped FPS but when I try enabling V-Sync for War Thunder inside Nvidia Control Panel I get this error saying ‘Access Denied’
Does anyone know how to fix this issue ?
Important mention
I’ve tried everything other people said will fix this issue:
-Updating drivers
-Downgrading drivers do a version where War Thunder ran just fine
-Freshly re-installing the game
-Deleting the Cache folder
What is your CPU?
What is your resolution now, what was it before the new display?
Set the monitor to a moderate refresh rate, like 100Hz in the system control panels.
Set the game to Vsync in the launcher.
See what happens.
I dunno how I managed to play war thunder on a 2013 pc
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
Resolution was always 1920x1080, still the same.
I’ll uninstall the game from steam and try the launcher.
Dang, and here I am playing on my 2015 laptop with 20 fps and 120 ping on low graphics. I better buy a new laptop.
Until last year, I played on an i5-9600F and a GTX-1070. With low resolution, I got about 200+ FPS, but with medium graphics and 4K I sometimes struggled with 60 Hz.
I have since upgraded to an RTX-4070s. After testing a lot of adaptive fps settings, I now play at vsync 100Hz, 4k and high settings. Trouble free, no slow downs
