I keep getting the following error upon launch even after waiting nearly 5-10 minutes for it to analyze files (in other words do bugger all and waste time) “could not unpack some files” with the file in question being “snapshot_blob.bin” Tried accessing the location of the file but it says the folder is corrupt. Should note the game is on an external hard drive. I’ve tried everything inlcuding waiting for bug patches and telling the useless firewall to piss off, nothing worked and I don’t feel like wasting 6 hours of my life for a reinstall as other sources state that will not fix the issue either. Is this something other players have issues with and Gaign is failing to address cause they don’t care or am I just cursed?
It’s obviously an error on your drive (dunno if mechanical, or something is blocking file to update/being removed).
Check if A-V software is not blocking whole directory (or any subdirectory) where that file is stored.
Click on that file/directory and check properties. Are you sure there is no read-only checkbox on any of them?
There is at least for the folder. The file still can’t be reached as I get the same error of “file or directory is corrupted” strangely it also reads 0 bytes which for sure is incorrect. The file does show up in win32 however but idk what that should mean.
Your playing the game off of a portable drive? If its showing corrupt then there is an issue on your drive. you may just want to remove and reinstall. Hopefully you backed up your controls.

A scan/repair of the drive fixed it and we’re back in buisness. Can’t believe my dumbarse didn’t think of that sooner. Thank you to those that bothered to reply and help. Now if you’ll excuse me I got seals to club.
