Game Causing Computer to Restart

Hello, today I encountered probably error/game bug, when the PC settings are maxed out, it either runs for few seconds or imediatelly turns off. It does happen on lower settings as well, but crashes only after a while, map seems to also have impact on it. I dont know what to do, since I´ve reinstalled the game, gpu drivers, chipset drivers, and even updated the bios in case there was some ucompatibility with newest drivers avaible.

Computer is capable of maxing out the game for stable 200 frames (it was since this day), Specs - i5 12600kf, 32gb 8000mhz DDR5, RTX 3090, z790 apex
I ´ve repasted both the gpu and cpu in case it was overheating problem, just prevetion even tho other games and stress tests ran just fine.

Made a ticket already, but If someone has the same problem, just let me know if you found way to fix it or whatever.

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

I had the same problems and in the end i had to downclock my 6000mhz ddr 5 to 5600mhz. Every other game was stable, but for some reason WT crashed randomly my computer.

So if you haven’t tried that yet, might be one thing to test.

Hello,

thank you for advice, unfortunatelly I already tried different RAM speeds and it seems like the lower I go with freq and timigs, the longer it lasts on but in the end it restarts again. Might change gpus, got 3060ti in the drawer to test.

Yet thanks again.

i am having similar issues, idk wtf is wrong with this game,

I RMA my Mother bord / GPU / CPU and PSU (powersupply )

nothing seems to work, this issue only happns when i am playing Warthunder, and Enlisted.

CPU = AMD Ryzen 5 5600T
GPU = Power Color Redevil 5700XT (AMD)
MB = Asus Tuf X570 plus
PSU = Cooler Master 850 w Gold +
RAM = TridentZ Neo 3600 Mhz Cl16 ( 3200 Mhz)

Win 11 pro OG,

Game Devs have not fixed this issue till date, i have noticed it eversince 2022

I fount out that when I did re-pad Gpu Power Delivery Cascade. It did work beautifully for a month or 2 and now yet same problem, checked the pads and the overall state of the water block (its on custom loop) and theres no way it can cause some problems since its in perfect condition

So I assume it was just a coincidental fix. If there wont be many reports to this toppic they wont do shi*.

My specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 3.5GHz 6 Cores
Motherboard: MSI MPG X570S EDGE MAX WIFI (MS-7D53)
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
RAM: 128GB Corsair DDR4 SDRAM
Windows: Microsoft Windows 11 Home (x64) Build 22631.5335 (23H2)

I believe I’m having the same issue, however when mine shuts down, it’s arond 2 minutes later when it restarts. I’ll check my RAM speeds to see what they are, but I’ve never adjusted mine at all.

I’ve updated the BIOS, I completely removed Win 1124H2 and installed Win 11 23H2 and all drivers, etc because of issues others had that seemed similar, but the problem still persists. I changed from a GeForce 1080Ti (it was beginning to overheat a bit) to the 3060Ti I have now trying to fix it as well, but I’m really thinking this just may be a software problem instead.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Honestly,
Im completly lost today, I´ve changed total of 9 GPUs ranging from old gtx 1070 throught 2 rtx 30 series cards, few AMD Cards and even borrowed a 4090 just to check if the problem persists.

I found out that it only had problem with the 30** series card and 1070 and rx 6900xt, on the other hand with rtx 4090 and even rtx 5070 and 7900xtx from AMD, had no problems at all. So I suggest it might be somewhat software related.

All the cards were in perfect shape, but still it bothers me why after repadding the 3090 the problem was temporarily fixed. I even tried to run multiple windows versions on both win 10/11.

So yeah, you might be absolutelly right, I suppose its some garbage software incompatibility between Windows + Drivers + Game itsself.

What do you mean when you say repad? I’m not familiar with that phrase.

NVM, Google is your friend. LOL

I actually repasted my 1080Ti as well, but saw no improvement at all, and now the 3060Ti is brand new, so I wouldn’t expect that to be the issue anymore (at least shouldn’t have to).

Re-padding means changing the thermal pads that make contact with the cooler and back plate (on better cards) and help it transfer heat. I once had problem with card that did shut down and restart computer right after, changing the thermal pads on the power delivery casade on the GPU mainboard did fix the issue, however, all the cards I tested were in 100% condition so it must be only software related then.

I figured out my problem, it was my PSU going bad. It was one of the first things I tested, and did so multiple times and showed no problems, but bought a new one and haven’t seen the problem come back (yet).

Well I did swap my PSU, unfortunatelly it didnt solve the problem but considering the psu I got (thor 1200w psu) which replacing would make me go crazy. I simply switched to the 7900xtx from AMD for now and got no problems.

Wow, 1200W?! I only use a 750W PSU. Went from a XFS Pro750 to a Corsair 750i. The XFS was a great PSU, and I’m still confused what’s wrong with it, as it still tests out great, but that’s without any load. The Corsair is much sweeter though, because it’s completely modular and I only install the cables I need instead of having “orphans”.

since I switched from win 10 to win 11, I have continuous PC restarts after 3-4 minutes of play. My configuration:
Windows 11 last upgrade
CPU: I5 14400
GPU: nvidia gtx 1650 - 4 GB
RAM: 32 GB
game is on SSD
I tried everything, cleaning video driver, changed with old ATI 550 card but it’s impossible to play, FPS less than 12, I even changed the HDMI cable with an old DVI, but nothing, I can’t end a battle. All other games run smoothly, Sims4, supermarket simulator, farm manager etc. No one can figure out what doesn’t work? Is it win11 or nvidia drivers not compatible with WT?

Built a new PC recently with a used 3080 and this keeps happening to me as well. It only happens when I’m in matches and my PC just restarts without any notification or error dumps. Tried enabling kernel dumps and disabling automatic restarts but it still just restarts with event 41 error and no other error to point me in any direction. Also happened a few times in other games like HLL or CS2 but way less frequently War thunder crashes seemingly every 2-3 games.

Tried the following:
-Reinstalled Windows, sfc /scannow, Dism, verified integrity of game files.
-Installed the latest drivers, chipset drivers, networking drivers.
-DDU’d and reinstalled GPU drivers multiple times, tried older gpu drivers as well.
-Flashed mobo to latest BIOS
-Swapped my PSU for a higher power higher quality unit
-Tried with the 1050Ti from my old system
-Disabled XMP profile on RAM, there’s no other overclocking/undervolting active
-Checked temperatures, they’re fine. (7500F rarely goes above 60 degrees, GPU peaks on 72 degrees)

After all these my PC still keeps restarting without any clue pointing to the issue, I’m completely baffled and can’t believe that this keeps happening after days of pulling my hair over this issue, I literally have no idea what else to try

I too was going crazy to understand why the PC kept restarting in the middle of a battle. I understood what caused my PC to restart, it was the power supply that went into protection due to an excessive absorption of the video card, nvidia geforce gtx 1650, 500 watt power supply. Changed with an 850 watt one and the PC restart are over

Well, to me it happened on my 1050Ti as well which I doubt can draw 750Watts but even the 3080 is only 380 Watts and my CPU never pulls more than 90 watts

WT stresses the video card a lot, and the power supply may be damaged, or of poor quality, where it says it is 500 watts but in fact does not exceed 300 watts, add the cpu, 1 or more HD, usb hub and other things, 300 watts end up immediately
