Situational, then. Don’t dogfight a better FM, the guy was distracted anyway. Launch a 27er if you have one, or get on a better aspect for your ir missiles.

BOL is massively artifically nerfed and in need of a MASSIVE buff to restore it to IRL performance. You can read about it here:
BOL is nerfed, but you see it deterring of all the missiles there, the very r73, and r27r’s actively ignoring the solid radar lock way above multipath.

Im thinking in terms of headon merge into dogfight kind of fight where you are trying to get guns on. The Gripen probably has it beat. But yeah, when you factor in things like HOBS IR Missiles + HMD or the sheer powerhosue that is R-27Es. Then that can change.

wym proper fox ones? it gets sky flashes, like 20 percent of my kills are with it. i always bring 5 9ms and 1 skyflash. also it is a behemoth of a plane. it’s so OP at 13.0 it’s hilarious. it catches basically everything and out dogfights everything other than f-2 at its br. also with the hmd you dont even need the guns, aim 9ms are fantastic in a dogfight with the grippy against most players, just lead them and theyll hit shots sub 1 km. and this is all from me playing this plane for the first time yesterday, and another 10 hours today
The Gripen does okay with the artificially nerfed BOL. The issue imo is that htey nerfed everything with BOL, which includes aircraft like the F3, FA2, Gr7, Viggen D/Di, etc etc which are basically dependent on BOL for half of their BR and yet basically no longer have it.
Even at top tier, its frustrating as hell having to drop dozens of BOL chaff to defeat anything in the Typhoon, when they should be equal to any other regular chaff. They are absolutely regid with things being “realistic”, such as Brimstone not getting a placeholder seeker, but BOL being literally 1/4 its IRL performance (for chaff) is just insane. BOL flares should actually be more on par with large calibre flares just with a short burn time
difference is that grippy is very cold, something like a tornado/harrier is kinda cooked with bol because it’s super hot
