Pretty sure they did it because they wanted to update the game UI to be more modern and in the process of that they ruined the pictures. They also ruined the player profile screen and still have not unfucked it and given us back the functionality the old one had
Old pictures were better.
Old statcards were better (new ones basically block easy access to important information on other players).
Even old wiki was better, although still crap.
If this topic can pick up some more traction then yeah I’ll see what I can do
Yeah old wiki was much more informative than what we have now. Like some of the newer vehicles don’t even have their historical background on the new wiki. It just seems like there’s no effort involved in the new wiki

I miss this type of old ribbons. They look much better they todays.
Damn this bring back some nostalgia, those medals are such a good way to flex on ppl
At the VERY LEAST, they should make it a toggleable selection; this addresses every single counterargument. Such as the need for “modern looking” UI, the new image being higher quality for previewing the vehicle, or doctrinal disagreements on aesthetic value. The only remaining valid argument is that the images need to be manually posed and edited. However, this process is not labor intensive in the first place. If Gaijin devs can’t screenshot a vehicle for its representative image, then that’s a complete disrespect of quality.
The new UI doesn’t look more modern than the old ones at all, it looks way too unpolished and the vehicle previews make the vehicle look more like a toy rather than an actual machinery of war.
6 + 12 = 18.
definitely looks more modern than this
although the new UI with the old pictures would still look better
Honestly, the oldstyle pictures from several years ago gave the tech tree a bit of personality.
Shame it was changed to the more sterile ones we got now.
We need both the PFP medal flexer and the old photos for TT instead of 3d Model.
Lol that’s maybe a bit too old there, what I mean is the one in 2021-2022 period.
