Gaijin prices too expensive?

Hello. I am still new to the game and looked over the original prices and the summer sale discount prices. I have noticed that the prices range between £20 to £65 for a single vehicle for rank 3 to 7.

When I spend money on games or items I tend to buy full RPGs when they are fully released, patched and with a discount. An example would be The Witcher 3 for £20, Baldur’s Gate 3 for £38, Kingdom Come: Deliverance Royal Edition £11.89, Far Cry 5 - Gold edition £14.99.

CSGO Elite skins under £10, Dota 2 skin sets under £10.

For me the current prices for Gaijin are not justified and not worth the purchase. I wanted to ask the community what is the best deal for a vehicle or pack you had from Gaijin?

Can we expect some good prices in the future?

What do you think of the current prices?

Are they justified to ask that amount for vehicles?

My initial idea was to purchase a premium vehicle to gain additional silver lions but with the current market prices I do not see the worth. I am willing to spend £10 max for a single vehicle tier 5 and above and that is about it. Even that might be a stretch.

To be honest, they are too much expensive, and they should have more reasonable price for a digital product. But since we talking for gaijin, the snail needs money. Edit: I think they should seperate some other things that are included inside the pack. For example, we should have the ability to select if we want the GE or Premium or both and so with that price should change.

Yes I have noticed that too. In some packs they include premium days and golden eagles. The problem is that I am most of the time stuck at work or in transport so I cannot use the premium days unless I take a holiday.
Option to remove the premium days or golden coins from a pack to reduce the price would be great.

You can buy an 8 hour game for $60, and many have.
You can buy a rank 7 premium for $35/$70 and many have, and spend well over 50 hours playing that specific vehicle, not counting the vehicles you unlock with it.

While yes the non-sale prices are incredibly expensive for something digital, i’d argue its a much better “investment” (however you wish to call it) than a skin for whatever there might be skins for.

But you would never buy an 8 hour game for $60. Because that is just a bad investment. Every single game drops in price the older it gets.
The purchased games get patches, dlcs and comunity mods mostly for free. Also people replay the same old games over and over.

A matter of perspective and what you’re looking to get out of it. If you’re someone who just likes hours of the same repetitive gameplay over and over again and you’re only looking to simply unlock new content, then yeah spending on war thunder would probably work for you. A person who likes complex characters and storytelling like in Witcher 3 or Baldur’s Gate 3 would find spending on WT abhorrent. I fall into the latter camp. If gaijin at least introduced new game modes and kept things interesting instead of simply pushing buggy slop in every single update, I’d be willing to pay. Gamepass exists too where you can have access to thousands of games in different genres for a pittance all offering experiences far more varied and interesting than war thunder.

I don’t buy the “I pay to play with friends” bs that some people push. You can easily have a ton of fun at lower tiers with friends without spending any money considering how easy it is to complete ranks I to III. WT gameplay peaks at BRs with WW2 and early Cold War vehicles anyway. Naval is just…awful. Not even going to get into it.

Instead of buying a vehicle just wait for the discounts on Premium accounts.

That’s what I do. I might not play everyday, but for the small cost per year, I get the benefit from what the Premium account provides.

I guess prices are justified if people pay them :)

But yes…i can see why vehicle prices are too high…you can get better prices at sales (lots of 50% discounts).

The best deal is usually 365 premium time at 50%…although this does not give you any premium vehicles, “just” faster progress on normal vehicles…

Some premium vehicles also a good option (with GE) when discounted…

I’d suggest getting the 2 Fronts bundle. 3 great vehicles at a fair price that can generate some good SL and RP. There’s also the US, British and Soviet bundles which are fairly priced. All the bundles are premiums so good for grinding if you want to go that route.

As for the high end vehicles they’re currently not worth the cost imo. Gaijin would need to offer more items for me to consider them such as having a couple of the camouflage skins unlocked in addition to more GE.

As others have suggested, wait for sales if you want the high tier items.
