Gaijin need to add spall liners to Chinese vehicles

The chally 2E still has worse mobility than the M1A2 btw

Compare to base model? Probably.

Compare to SEPV2 it doesnt.

Yeah? In response to people getting angry over the implication that the Abrams doesn’t have spall liners… Which they themselves brought up first… In this thread.

Do you not stop and think about what you’re saying?

Anyway, I’ve now double checked all of the tanks on the dev server - and there’s no sign of any spall liners on any Chinese tanks.

The VT-4A1’s UFP also seems to be unable to ricochet even an 83 degree shot for some reason… Which seems to have been a recent nerf, as I’m pretty sure I remember it ricocheting a shot like this.

Par for the course…

You’re wasting your breath.
Multiple people have told him to get back on-topic, just flag and move on.

Either contact a goddamn community manager or somebody that can do something about it or spam flag it. Honestly ridiculous

Yeah i know i know…

Yeah, you’re not wrong. The mainly useful spall lining would be on the hull sides. Which they thankfully all mostly appear to have.

The breeches of Chinese top tier tanks are just simply wrongly modeled currently, and that is an entirely separate game breaking error that these tanks face.

Yea thats why i said either ignore them or call the moderators for that, did you missed that part?

As i expected, Gaijin didnt surprised me again.

Seems like new bug report is needed.

Wait i need context, a little confused

Isn’t there sometimes an update to the dev server midway? Might be coming yet.

As for ricochet I’m assuming that the round is overmatching the front ERA plate possibly?

I’m not going to call the moderators. I believe that is a pathetic thing to do on a free speech forum.
I would rather prove someone wrong and force them to leave of their own conscience.

Oh wow you get one whole tank with worse mobility than the fastest chally that trades everything else for that speed so amazing right while the Sepv2 is still more mobile than than every other challenger

Fair enough, your personal choice.

The plate is 45mm yet is being overmatched?
The Abrams UFP is 38mm and always ricochets at 83 degrees. I think it’s just them modelling the driver plate separate and leaving a flat area without a slope there.

Regardless, it doesn’t matter. Just another of many weaknesses that wouldn’t be covered with a spall liner.

I’ve been unable to find any videos of the driver position with a spall liner visibly covering the UFP.

Either Dm me or move this disccussion to the Abrams thread.

Finally you’ve understood. Thanks i guess.

Oh thank god does this mean you’re gonna leave

Is it 45mm RHA on the outer plate of the ERA?

No, it’s just 45mm RHA angled at 82 degrees with ERA on top at the same angle. And it just refuses to ricochet because of what I believe to be overlap messing with the game’s ricochet physics.

What ends up happening is that 45mm RHA angled at 82 degrees with FY-2 ERA (120mm KE) angled at 82 degrees stacked is weaker than 38mm RHA angled at 82 degrees and nothing else. Which is great.
