Gaijin and modern NATO armor

IF this is done on purpose…then realism has nothing to do with it?

No we’re not gonna talk about it because nobody cares about France or Japan

Well, hopefully Gaijin will announce their flawed reasoning or complete negligence on their end regarding the other tanks. When the devblog and forum thread arrives, rally there. This is a NATO thread, so I think we can talk about French tanks.

Let’s imagine the Abrams get their armor buffed. Do you sincerely believe USA players will seek to fix the armor of other nations like France?

That’s why won’t speak about France, or Italy or Japan. Because nobody cares about these nations.

I would if I had the information. I’ve got more time and resources put into the Abrams, but I am getting a book on Chobham armor that I will try to use to help the Challys if I can find something of value in it.

Meh, you can find everything you need to know about Russian kit easily online, down to the exact material composition of the T-90 hull, live fire trials (performed by Ukraine before anyone cries “muh propaganda”) on Kontact-5, etc etc, and that’s why it’s modelled more accurately. Hardly anything has been released on NATO kit in comparison, the most recent insight we have into NATO composites are from the Russian captured CV-90 that show us the interior of it’s AMAP modules (pic rel)

Then why doesn’t Gaijin show us the sources and documents they use for their Russian vehicles?

Why should they do this? should they report on all sources for each tank?

Cause the sources are freely available online for anyone to see at any time.
Russian vehicles aren’t even the most powerful & never have been.
They’ve only ever reacted to other vehicles being more powerful.
2A5 getting DM53 and Strv 122 is why T-72B3 got 3BM60 and why T-80BVM was added, now 2A7V & more Strv 122 is why T-90M was added, which “doesn’t have a reverse speed”.

Not an excuse for western armor shouldn’t be fix because of Russia are sht or anything even if Russian are the weakest nation in the game, it still it not an excuse why Western tanks shouldn’t not be fixing closet real life counterpart Leopard 2A7V better than T-90M so what? 2A7V armor still need fix for better performance anyway.

The biggest lies about military equipment are told by arms manufacturers to potential buyers incuding Government.I have seen that on many occasions. Its the reason Hitler ended up with so much useless crap.USA as bad as anyone there.

However, the US Government does not engage in this behavior vis a vis the Abrams. They either say nothing or supply accurate data. There is no such Restriction for Russia or China. And they have been caught lying many times.

Because if it’s online it’s truth.

Look, a rough surface search shows so much misinformation I find a quality assessment to be impossible.

Perhaps the data on the armor is correct for Russian vehicles. Perhaps those Kontact-5 tests are a good reflection. I just don’t trust anything when it comes to this stuff. Especially as any Russian source is automatically suspect.

Not true actually, it wasnt like that at all but off topic i guess

Yeah my bad for derailing

Can you imagine the amount of information about 1000+ tanks/planes/helicopters in the game? It’s frankly stupid.

But I think they should start with the Apache thermal imager information. As far as I know from the official manual and procurement documents, TADS is 1st generation and was on all AH-64s up to version D and only there they put M-TADS 2nd generation.

In the game all have 3+, even the prototype Apache. U.S. bias?

We have enough sources and data available for Gaijin to work with to make reasonably fair estimates in regards to armor protections, armament and capabilities when modeling the vehicles. Many of the top tier vehicles could be improved alone on what is legally available.

Problem is, they only apply it when it comes to Russian vehicles. Everyone else gets outright shafted.

If Gaijin will accept Fofanov, they should accept fprado or Gary’s Tank blog.
