Sorry, I didn’t read carefully, I didn’t notice the moment with the initial DL. By initial DL does it mean laser/radio channel guidance or as in Tan-SAM the probable target coordinates received from the radar are sewn into the missile’s memory before launch? Because there are very few real short-range anti-aircraft missiles with wireless Datalink, there are probably even less than 5 models.
The missile flies on DL untill it is able to aquire the target itself. When it aquires the target with its own seeker, it terminates the DL. I band RF one. It is also capable of flying on intercept path IOG only.
Looking at SAHV-3
So the gunner’s sight on the Rooikat SPAAM prototype/mockup was feasible
Yes, if that sight was real, and im not sure if said sight had laser coder from the get go, or if it would have to be installed, it could be used to gude the missile. That was one of the reasons for installing the laser recivers in the missile, in order to allow vehicels without ETS to guide them.
I always thought the G6 was cool, this is even cooler. +1
What’s the current status after the leak 2 updates ago? Have they pulled a ZA-HVM and said the G6-HVM doesn’t exist? Or are we just waiting and hoping?
They have said nothing, that is why this suggestion still exists.
