From what i know, there is no problem with its standard HE, however if you are using the HE-VT, there is currently a bug where it doesn’t do the same amount of damage (in regards to thinkness of armor plate it can pen), even if it is within the proxy fuse distance (it behaves like standard HE within that distance)
The HE and HE-VT have the same amount of explosive filler.
As I understand it, the turret can rotate 90 degrees each side, I’ve read a few articles on the upgrade and most of them seem to suggest a increased rotation angle
I think most problems with that isnt the ability to but more stability, image shooting a powerfull and long 155mm barrel on a reletively thin chassis atleast conpared to the gun length
My dad had a friend that worked on the project and he said that there was a serious problem of the turret ring cracking, the G6 although having a shorter barrel than most NATO artillery systems still had a much large chamber volume and would have much more recoil but the G6-52 and 52ER both have improved barrel length and the 52ER has a 25l chamber instead of the previous 23l or global standard 21l. This makes 1.5x more recoil if I understand correctly but we also have better access to strong recoil absorbers
I absolutely love playing the G6!!! This would be an amazing upgrade. South Africa truly carries the British tech tree imo, and I would love to see more South African vehicles in future updates. +1
Heya. This appears to be wrong, as Denel’s G6 brochure says that it’s higher than 6 rounds per minute, specifically 8 rounds per minute. This would be 7.5 seconds per shot
No, that is a G6-52ER. The G6 can only move the turret so far either direction but the 52ER and turn 360 degrees. You can tell it’s a prototype because it is made after 2012 and it is brand new, not broken and fucked up beyond repair
The images provided above are not of the G6-52ER, they are of the standard production G6-45 which is capable of 180º frontal arc traverse.
The images below are of the G6-52ER and T6-52 turret.
The T6-52 / G6-52ER turrets are capable of full 360° traverse whereas the production G6-45, the one in game, is not.
