I upvoted the suggestion - but imho it makes zero sense to add any new German ww2 hardware as long as gaijin is unwilling to de-nerf the already existing vehicles.

Why would i buy or fly a prototype aircraft of the 190 family as long as the other members are nerfed regarding FM (turntime, low speed agility) and thermodynamics (artificial overheating)?

190s are plain head-on machines - but require usually way more experienced pilots than in other aircraft as it is way easier to get kills in other TTs.

And even if you are experienced - ever tried energy traps with a D-12? The missing elevator authority denies you bringing guns on target (fast enough) in most of the the cases.

I mean the 190s were at lower alt able to turn with 109s, clapped the shit out of the Spits, were able to kill P-51s below 5 km and in wt they fly like pianos. Alone the fact that a major production model (190 A-9, ~ 1,000 units) with the 2,200 hp engine is not implemented is evidence enough that gaijin doesn’t care…

I’ve been looking over the suggestion again, and there appears to be a discrepancy;

Despite being described by documents as an improved Fw-190D-9, there is not a place for the Mg 131s to go, the upper fuselage ports are faired over like on the D-12 and D-13; and in your own references, it appear there were two likely armament options:

2x Mg-151/20
2x Mg-151/20E
(so basically 4x Mg-151/20, likely set-up like a D-11 with the Mk-108s replaced by the Mg-151/20Es.)

OR

2x Mg-151/20
1x Mk-108
(A copy of the D-12 set-up)

This is probably due to two different prototypes with no solid information on what the final armament was to be.

I would vote to modify the suggestion to make it the 2x Mg-151/20 and 2x Mg-151/20E, to better distinguish it from the Fw-190D-12 and the Ta-152H-1, and the Mg-151/20s are a far more reliable armament in game compared to the Mk-108s, creating some parity with the very late-model Spitfires, N1K2s, and F8F-1Bs.

Sorry, that really sucks; I was looking forward to them. They really should have atleast approved the D-11 and A-9 for discussion, as those were the pinnacle of Fw-190 to see (limited) serial production.

Can you list which got declined ?
Don´t they say why they declined them ?

Is there a suggestion for the Ju 88 A-17 or the He 111 H-20 ?

As keen as I am for Kurt Tank’s stuff, I really see no place for this.

Its a minescue downgrade/change from the D15 and brings nothing to the game. If it turns up as some sort of premium (hopefully the super rare kind) I am all for it however.

cant wait for the A9 to be 5.7 against Spit MK-24s XD

Mr snail added pancake aircraft image

not that much of down grade Fw 190 D-15 used the DB 603 EB engine
why not have all of them in game 😸?

Personal i disagree the Fw 190 D-14 will be a awesome fighter with stronger engine and faster than other Fw 190 D.

two Fw 190 D-14 prototypes were built with different engines

one Fw 190 D-14 use DB603E which found on Do 335 in game
image

and the Fw 190 D-14 use DB 603 LA engine found on Ta 152 C-3

mr snail could add one as event and other Fw 190 D-14 as premium replacement for Fw 190 D-13.

I would argue it absolutely brings something to the game.

if we go with the 4x20mm and DB-603LA as the configuration to be represented in-game, it would be an aircraft with a high power-to-weight ratio, and reliable armament, providing a more well-rounded super-prop to counter the P-51H or Spitfire Mk.22, as the Ta-152H-1 is limited by the efficacy of the MK-108’s low muzzle velocity and slow roll rate.

We do have the Ta-152C-3, but it is quite frankly and unrealistic boat of incredibly poor turn performance, even for an energy fighter. If the Ta-152C-3’s flight model was fixed, the Fw-190D-14 would still be unique as it would still be much lighter, without the MK-103 motorkannone; with the 20mms in the wings and wing roots as opposed the more centralized firepower of the Ta-152C with the 20mms in the upper fuselage and wing roots.
