Is there any reason the FV 4005`s turret is constrained? The restored FV shows at the very least a 180 degree rotational arc and https://tanks-encyclopedia.com claims a full 360 swing with firing constrained to an arc over the front and rear of vehicle. Could it be implemented with a firing deadzone similar to that of bomber gunners?

No clue, but I imagine the recoil of this massive 183mm cannon could knock over the tank, if it was fired on uneven ground when the turret was positioned to either side.
That large spade in the back to dig into the ground is probably not there just for fun.
the turret can fully rotate as its still just a centurion ring.
HOWEVER in game we have it limited to the reccomended firing angles. Considering we tend to ignore such things in how vehicles act in WT its nonsensical to not at minimum have the centaur be able to fire directly to the side.
the main concern with the testbed tank was that its recoil was so ridiculous that it would break itself after a few shots
