The 1/2 Cigognes fighter squadron is a combat unit of the French Air Force. Long based on the 102 Dijon-Longvic air base, it joined the BA 116 in the summer of 2011. It is currently equipped with Mirage 2000-5F fighters. Its aircraft carry the codes 2-EA to 2-EZ.
From September 3, 2015, the squadron is once again attached to the 2nd fighter wing, reformed the same day in Luxeuil.
Heir to the legendary Cigognes squadron, the first unit in the history of military aviation founded in July 1912, that of Guynemer and René Fonck, the EC 1/2 Cigognes was created in November 1945, taking up the traditions of the 329th Squadron of the Royal Air Force, which had itself been formed by pilots of the Groupe de Chasse 1/2 Cigognes after the armistice of 1940.
