Today I’m offering you a new decal from the French Air Force: the crest of the 12F flotilla.
The 12F flotilla, known as “Les Lascars,” is a fighter squadron of the French Navy. Founded in 1948 at the Hyères airbase following the Second World War, this unit was disbanded twice but rearmed each time a few years later to transition to more modern equipment. Starting with World War II propeller-driven aircraft, the unit was disbanded to transition to the F-8 Crusader in the 1960s, and this process was repeated in the early 2000s during the transition to the Rafale.
Conflicts:
Flotilla 12F has been deployed to numerous theaters of operation and is one of the French units to have seen the most combat action since World War II. It was deployed to Indochina and Algeria between 1952 and 1957, losing several aircraft. After transitioning to the F-8, Flotilla 12F was deployed to Djibouti, Lebanon, and Yugoslavia. The Rafales were used in Afghanistan (the aircraft’s first real combat use) as well as in various counterterrorism operations.
Due to its extensive deployment, this unit has had the opportunity to operate from numerous land bases in France and abroad, as well as from numerous French aircraft carriers such as the La Fayette, the Bois Belleau, and the Charles de Gaulle.

This in-game crest would be an interesting addition, as most aircraft bearing this insignia are in-game (the only exception being the Rafale M), and this unit has a rich history of deployment in theaters of operation.
